My, eau, my! Expensive...

With the tragic loss of designer Alexander McQueen to suicide last week, look now at the cost of Kingdom EDP. I will have to cherish whatever I have left in a bottle.

I posted this as I consider this a gender-neutral scent. Warm and wonderful with the eau de armpit accord...

Wow, that was quick. I know that people have to make a living, but that type of price jacking after a death is just plain ghoulish and in poor taste (IMO)

Reminds me of what happened to the the Gianfranco Ferre scent, Ferre 20, right after his passing. It was cheap and plentiful one day and a costly rarity the next.

When Gianni Versace died, I don't see the prices for The Dreamer skyrocketing and that's a pretty solid fragrance.

This just doesn't make sense to me. The perfumer created the fragrance, but it doesn't mean they, by themselves, hand made every bottle. Does it? I mean it's not like their creations are going out of production are they?

I agree...just a rather morbid attempt to capitalise on a tragedy. In some cases, the memorabilia market goes insane for the loss of someone famous...

i guess there's always some naive ebay-er trying to strike a quick buck and hope for a sucker to land in the trap...

suprisingly over here its considered normal behaviour

Alexander McQueen will be missed, he was a designer of clothing, not fragrances. What ever the vultures are up to, he's gone; a bottle of Kingdom is not a piece of him.
Goodnight to our dear Lee, I'll miss you, and I hope you found what you were after.

Yeah, it's extremely in poor taste. Yves Saint Laurent died too not long ago but we didn't see this happening (for which I'm glad).
Anyway, I'm content with the mini bottle of Kingdom I bought ~2 months before McQueen died.. Such a tragedy. Guess it gets pretty lonely at the top.

Never tried any of his scents. Will have to try Kingdom soon.
