New Serge Lutens fragrance: L'Eau

From Aedes:

.... L'Eau wraps its wearer like an ethereal mist and evokes the exhilarating sensation of walking in a spring rainstorm, the evanescent scent of freshly starched linen, the delicate vision of white petals on water. Subtle and pure, L'Eau is nonetheless a vivid and memorable fragrance. As the composition unfolds on the skin, it reveals its facets like a perfectly cut diamond; the bracing note of clary sage, the crisp accent of white mint, the seductive allure of white magnolia. Capturing a lasting sensation of freshness, L'Eau retains a marvelously sensual aura.

L'Eau Serge Lutens will ship in the first week of March. Pre-order today to receive complimentary FedEx ground shipping.

I received a small sample of this at the beginning of the month. I was rather disappointed as i was expecting something special. I admit I only smelled it on smelling strip and maybe I should try it on my skin, but to me it seems like just another watery fruity floral; and I have had my full of those!

Isnt it supposed to be an anti-perfume from what I have previously read ?

Meh....not a fan of summer frags anyway

They had to come up with an up to there description for such a let down of a frag...

It did sound to me like SL had finally joined the aquatic bandwagon. If PM has read that it's an "anti-perfume," then I can only suppose it's "anti-" when compared to the rest of the mostly distinctive SL line.

I tried it. It's good for what it is. I just don't need to spend $150 on it when a shower and a fresh shirt would have basically the same effect.

Thank you for this love!!

Again a great fragrance by S Lutens. But not an anti-parfume. And it doesn't seem to be the first fragrance reminding just clean clothes (what about pure linen by Lauder? Am I wrong or it is inspired by the same idea?). As I said a great fragrance, but, as all S Lutens frags has no persistance on my skin.

I've tried this now as well, and I agree that it's very nice. I find it to be a clean-smelling aquatic floral, along the lines of the women's L'Eau d'Issey. Aquatics generally evaporate quickly on me, but I did find this one longer lasting than LEdI, which I would certainly own a fb of for hot, dry summer days if only it lasted more than a few hours at best. Considering the pricing, however, I can get about five 100ml bottles of LEdI to one SL L'Eau, reapply lavishly, and still have half a pint more LEdI left over by the end of summer than I would SL L'Eau.

Having now tried this, I stand by my earlier statement that, "it's 'anti-' when compared to the rest of the mostly distinctive SL line." This is a very agreeable fragrance. There is nothing unusual or challenging in its composition. The SA at Barney's offered that Mr. Lutens' clients asked him to make a versatile, contemporary, everyday fragrance, and this was his creation to meet that request.

Well people really seem to have come out of the woodwork to hate on this one, but I love it! It is perfect for summer and the longevity is unreal. I can see why other Lutens lovers would find nothing of value here, but I really enjoyed the sample I got and can't wait to pick up a full bottle.

Maybe I'd be less enthused with this if I was more familiar with this type of "clean" genre.. but I'm so new to it and this Lutens seems ideal for what I wanted to wear this summer.

Good one!

You know what it smells like to me? Nautica White Sail. I haven't done a side-by-side comparison yet, but they do remind me of each other.

Great one..

But if you DO want it, don't pay $150 -- parfum1.com has it for $135, and until the 4th an additional 15% off (code SALESALE5PQ), so that's $114 to US addresses (and, no tax, free shipping)

Not that I'm getting it, I'm just sayin' ....

(I'm not endorsing this site over others. But, I've ordered from them 3 or 4 times because they do have various Lutens at slight discounts... with occasional additional 10 - 20% off promotions.)
