Masculine but sweet - your best recommendations

Got a big sweet tooth for boldly sweet men's fragrances, especially in this frigid winter we've been having. I draw the line at Joop. Otherwise, looking for suggestions. Some of my favorites in my collection include Chergui, Creed Original Santal (no, it does not remind me of Joop), and Acier Aluminium. Prefer rich sweetness. Yes, I will consider some unisex and even female-marketed fragrances - but don't get too carried away with those. . . . not looking to smell like Lolita or your Aunt Lottie.

Any recommendations?
Do not blind buy any of these!

BUT--if you like sweet, my first impression is By Kilian Back to Black. A very sweet pipe tobacco in the top note and some say cherry vanilla tobacco. I do not detect powder. This is sold as a unisex.

A femme which may be unisex is Molinard's Habanita. A tobacco vanilla (with some powder) that is very pleasant and sweet. Habanita was recently discussed on the boards.

Finally, a mainstream scent for men, Diesel Fuel for Life. A sweet undercurrent all the way down.

I cannot think of a finer one than Jazz Prestige.

Costume National Scent Intense, Dior Homme Intense and Lolita Lempicka au Masculin are my three favorite 'sweet' fragrances. Scent Intense is a rich amber with some sweet 'berries' in the background that set it apart. Dior Homme Intense smells like apple pie dusted with cocoa and a glass of vanilla custard. Lolita Lempicka au Masculine smells like 'dusty vanilla licorice,' I don't think theres any other way to describe it. Id say Dior Homme Intense is the most masculine of the three - really worth a try in my opinion.

Haven't tried it yet, but found it yesterday in a local shopping mall store. I'll have to check it out. Thanks!

Big fan of Green Valley. Very curious about TF Tobacco Vanille. Don't know the others. Thank you, Mr. Dullah. Always appreciate your well-informed opinions.

A second for L'Occitane's Eau des Baux. A vanilla incense with cypress!

I dare you to try out Hypnotic Poison.
On the right man, it can be quite alluring!

I just edited again and included Cadillac for Men EDT, which is similar to Arpege pour Homme, except that Arpege has a strong Iris note and Cadillac has a predominant Tarragon note.

I forgot ST Dupont Signature, another quite sweet, yet very masculine scent which is not so much like Tobacco Vanille, but more like a dry/parched, far more Masculine Guerlain SDV.

Burberry London for men
Michael for men- Michael Kors
Habit Rouge!
I'd rec some ambers. They're sweet but spicey as well. Try Opium Pour Homme, Tom Ford Amber Absolute
Bvlgari Black - vanilla + rubber
maybe? Serge Daim Blond (leather and apricot)

that's all I can think of for now
Rochas Man and New Haarlem
Guerlain's L'Heure Bleue and Vol de Nuit are beyond gender and fit your desires perfectly for sweet wintry scents. Both have that great pastry-scented guerlainade, L'Heure Bleue as a spicy-iris oriental and Vol de Nuit as a woody-amber oriental.

I find YSL M7 to be quite sweet in a very non-gourmand kind of way. And Michael for Men and Lolita au Masculin are great recs I would second.

Allure?
From the previous list, I absolutely second especially Burberry London and Zino Davidoff

other frags to likely be considered for testing:

Gucci Envy for Men, Rochas Man, Fahrenheit 32, Obsession Night by Calvin Klein, almost anything within the Versace Jeans range, Givenchy Very Irresistible, Azzaro Bright Visit, Solo Loewe- powerful, yet still somewhat safe and casual wear-type of sweetness

Chanel Allure Homme, Dior Homme, M7 (these three remotely bordering the first category), Jaipur by Boucheron, Ungaro III, Endymion by Penhaligon's, Baldessarini Ambre, Givenchy Pi, the male version L'Instand de Guerlain, Cartier Declaration, also ultra classic Caron pour un Homme, Guerlain Mouchoir de Monsieur, oddly even the Blu Mediterraneo range by ADP, Esencia Loewe - a far more non-linear, quirky, artisanal, off-beat, experimental kind of sweetness, aptly masked by and/or mingled with some of the complete opposites of sweet fragrance notes

Body Kouros
Cristobal pour Homme
Habit Rouge
Jaïpur Homme
Jubilation XXV
Kenzo Power
M7
Rochas Man

Rochas Man- sexy chocolate frag
Armani Code- Tonka Bean sweetness
Canali Man- sweet citris leather
Swiss Army original- sweet alpine smell

This is great. Thank you, BN group! Lots of stuff in here I've never considered. That's what makes basenotes so great - opens us up to lots of new possibilities. Wouldn't have found a tenth of this without the group's advice. THANKS!
New Haarlem by bond no 9. Please don't pass it by, it's an incredible gourmand.
To be careful..I'd say go to www.theperfumecourt.com and sample them before...or unless they're available at your local chemist.

It proves much more au fait and safe to do it this way..whereas buying outright, especially if wadded for cash..can be a nuesance.

Oh, I also suggest you try Chanel Antaeus it is a very sweet frag and can easily be located at many pharmacies and many perfumeries!

Good Luck!

I totally agree, and was going to suggest Antaeus and Knize Ten for masculine sweetness!
Antaeus sweet? Eeeehh....
There's some sweetness to both Antaeus and Knize Ten; what I took to be all leather at first sniff for both turns out to be honied florals held in a leather glove, but Antaeus has the sage and thyme to balance the sweetness and Knize Ten has the petroleum accord. The sandalwood in both (coupled with the patchouli in Antaeus) make for woody-sweet (but not sugary or syrupy) drydowns.

But then again I'm a total fanboy!

+1 Lui Rochas and Loewe Solo.

Adding: Fumerie Turque.
Not a big fan of the Bond range in general but New Haarlem - booootiful!!

....and what a great bottle!!

Pi, Body Kouros, Le Male, The Dreamer, M7, Black XS, A*men, The One... the ones that come to mind from my wardrobe.
John Varvatos (original) and Opium.

Great suggestions. The only thing I would add is :
- Parfumerie Generale Cadjmere
+ if you're going to TPC for samples, try Cartier's Les Heures du Parfum XIII La Treizieme Heure ..... nizzzzzeeeee.

Also need to add Guerlain Moscou to this list
post #56 of 79
Arpege Pour Homme by Lanvin
Some that come to mind are Perry Ellis White, Anucci Gold, Gaultier 2, Fleur de Male and a few of the powdery sweet types would be Arpege Pour Homme, Pour Un Homme de Caron, and Lagerfeld.

I must add my two signature fragrances, both in the eau de parfum formulations: Opium Pour Homme and Jaipur Pour Homme.
