Masculine but sweet - your best recommendations - Page 2

Not a huge fan of sweet, but Rochas Man is growing on me.
I'm waiting on bottle of Body Kouros which I believe is in the same neighborhood.
Bond New Harlem is a blatant rip off of Rochas Man or a higher quality version of it depending on who you want to believe.
I guess Habit Rouge is kind of sweet in its own way, but I have a tough time pushing that one.

Chanel Pour Monsieur to me is sweet, masculine (but I like it too!) and not cloyingly sweet.

FWIW.

On the advice of Basenoters I picked up a bottle of M7, and damn it is good stuff. Edible, nearly. Have a bottle of SL Ambre Sultan on the way, after sampling at Barney's last week. This thread has been a big help. Thanks again to the Basenoters who've chimed in. Your advice is very, very helpful.

Sweet and Manly:

BOIS DU PORTUGAL

specially the drydown of its exotic woods make it smell sweer or as I say Honey-ish and is definitely very masculine....

Second on the Burberry London and Opium pour homme YSL. You might want to find a sample of Monk by Michael Storer and two other Storer frags, Il Giardino and Dijn are all very sweet.

I can give a + to Monk... it is sweet but not too sweet and definitely masculine. Good staying power too.

ungaro - ungaro III - smell of cold black roses

yves sanit laurent - body kouros - caramel but the sweetness is very well balanced, much much better than Rochas

caron - le troisieme homme - herbs and spices that dry down in a lovely smokey vanilla accord

yves saint laurent - jazz - fresh florals with a nice woody base

Aquolina - Blue sugar
Cacharel - Nemo
Cartier - Declaration

The Basenotes gang really came through on this one. M7, Rochas Man -- two of the best I've picked up via the group's suggestions. Several have mentioned L'Instant de Guerlain -- yes, yes, love it. I found yet another fragrance store in my area, one of those stores that has fragrances stacked to the ceiling, and many of the fragrances recommended in this thread are stocked there. This thread has inspired several sampling safaris. Thanks, Basenotes! Never would have found these without your help.

My favourite masculine but sweet fragrance is Kenzo Power.. I dont know if anyone gets a sweet floral note on their skin but this is definatey floral with my chemistry, yet it has a masculinity to it.
