Wore Vol de Nuit Evasion last night, and today I'm wearing Apres l'Ondee. Would that Guerlain would make Apres easier to find in the US.

And to the SoTD

Since I just spilled about 7.5 ml of Patchouli Empire (in what was supposed to be a simple sniff/dab move that went horribly wrong) all over me and on my clothes, I'm guessing my SoTD is... Patchouli Empire. Can't comment on it until I am only wearing one human-sized dose!

Sheesh. Grace personified I am not. :-}

Thanks for the hugs! I feel better.

I am really enjoying this "Cotton Flower" roll-on perfume bought at the airport shop. Yes, it smells like soap, but in the nicest way. And I've been driving myself nuts trying to recall the brand of soaps it smells like-- it started with a "B". They were blue, shaped like shells and available in the gift/bath products section of department stores like Filene's. Don't you just hate when a name hovers in the back of your mind? Aargh!

I'm wearing The Lost (Bathed and Infused dupe of Luctor et Emergo) layered with Heeley Cardinal (to amp up the incense which is lacking in The Lost). BIG MISTAKE. I've been very short of breath for the last few days, and this was just TOO much ...

Chaya, you know how I feel about prednisone ... it's a love/hate relationship but we do what we have to do.

Hello everyone!

It's been a crazy day, and I just realized that I never posted my SOTD, another of my own 5-Star Fragrances - from 1991, Christian Dior's incredible, incomparable Dune.


Top notes - bergamot, mandarin, rosewood, aldehyde, broom
Middle notes - jasmine, rose, ylang-ylang, lily, wallflower
Base notes - vanilla, patchouli, benzoin, sandalwood, amber

Interesting note - Dune won a Fifi in 1993 for Best Women's Fragrance of the Year in the Nouveau Niche category.



30 Roses - I'm so sorry for what you're going through. You and your family are in my thoughts.

Twolf - you made my day! 8e Jour is also a long-time favorite of mine and I'm thrilled that you know and love it! I've never known how to describe it but you did it perfectly - "A balmy oriental with frankincense and vanilla and it is a swooner"...I love that!

Libertine - I'm so glad you like L'Instant de Guerlain! This one is very special to me, and I was really hoping it would make a good impression!

I just spent like a bunch of time chatting with my sis, which is cool but odd. So now it's way late and I need to get ready for bed, so this one's short.

Day 5 if five-star week is my skanky, sweet, spicy, second-skin sillage bomb, Tabu.
