Body Kouros vs. Rochas Man

After a couple of months I went today to the store to try/buy Body Kouros or Rochas Man.
Problem is, there was only one bottle left of Rochas Man (€70/100ml) and no tester available. Also for Body Kouros, there were no testers.

How do these two compare to each other? Which one is the most safe to buy blind?

EDIT: Are they both similar to JPG Le Male? That's one I have tested before.

I like Body Kouros more, but nothing is safe for a blind buy. Absolutely nothing. Go to another store and try them before buying.

Rochas Man is safer as it's not as sweet as Body Kouros. It's also more versatile. Body Kouros to me is an evening fragrance.

70 euros per 100ml of Rochas Man might be too much. Wouldn't it be better to buy from online store?

Yep 70 euros is way too much. Just go to scentmonkey.com (or any other online shop) and order 1,7 Oz of both. It will cost you just 27+20+10 shipping $ US. Actually it will cost you just $80 even if you buy 3,4 Oz of both.

Oh. And on topic. I never tried Rochas man but really love Body Kouros. Its sex in the bottle.

These two fragrances are getting out of stock in Belgium I think, 'cause I see them seldomly. I will try to find them in another store and try them before I buy If prices are much lower online, I'll purchase online.

I haven't tried Body Kouros, but I did buy a mini of Rochas Man blind. I have no regrets. I feel that it does the chocolate smell really
well. I'll worn it to work at least once, and hope to do so again soon!

BK is more of a 'sexy' smell while Rochas Man is more of a 'cuddly' fragrance.

BK great choice ....
70 eu toooooooo muchhhhhhh realy tooo muchhhh for this one , you could buy Le Male + A*Man spray it toghether and you will get Rochas Man ( with no lack of intensity) ...

I prefer Rochas Man if I had to choose one but I own both and really enjoy both. Rochas Man is more of a romantic fragrances while Body Kouros is more of a sexy going out fragrance.

I actually bought blind Rochas Man and I like it but I'm a gourmand lover so I think I'm used to sweeter smells. I'll give Body Kouros a try in the near future

I've tried both. Not really safe for a blind buy, but Rochas man is slightly less so. Rochas is sweet in an inoffensive way that isn't very loud, BK is sweet in a possibly offensive way, thus being pretty loud. I like BK better, in fact, I own a bottle. Sometimes I wonder when to wear it though.

Body Kouros is sex, period! Never tried Rochas Men, but from what I've heard it is gourmand with strong coffee notes. Almost no scent is a safe blind buy. When my inexperienced nose first smelled BK, it found it ghastly, but things changed. I implore you to try before buy, though.

Rochas Man is excellent. Body Kouros intrigues me but I don't think its a must-have at the moment. Its got a very interesting sweetness to it that is fresh rather than powdery like Lolita Lempicka au Masculin. I only had a splash sample so I can't say for sure what BK is like during a full day's wear from a sprayer, but from my experience I was left wanting something more. Rochas Man on the other hand is a fresh, floral, mocha (rather than coffee) gourmand that's just right. Much safer in my opinion if you're doing a blind buy.

I have and love them both. They don't smell like Le Male. To me Rochas would be a safer buy. I don't think that BK is loud, but it has a good longevity and sillage. I agree Rochas is more romantic and BK is sexier.

I think the simplest summation is this.

Body Kouros - If you're trying to impress a fragrance snob this is the one.

Rochas Man - If you're trying to impress any woman.


Rochas came in 4th for "most complimented" fragrance here on basenotes, and it was a pretty exhaustive tally. Only to be outdone by Leu Dissey and the far more expensive Creed offerings. Furthermore, I would say Rochas is by far the absolute best "bang for your buck" frag out there. It's underrated, not overused, affordable, and ladies adore it. What more could you ask for? Except for well mixed, daring, and/or new smells, and that's what Kouros does.

Bought Rochas Man a while ago and gave to a friend straight away. Nice but forgettable.
Body Kouros is certainly more interesting, overly sweet but with character, while Rochas Man is a bit bland.
Rochas Man got a sort of Le Male vibe, while Body Kouros is just a different animal altogether. Go for BK

These two were two of the first fragrances I bought once I started getting more into this hobby. I enjoyed both at first for sure. I remember the first time I sampled Body Kouros I was really blown away. However, after purchasing them, both never really tickled my fancy the way they should have. I get bad longevity and sillage out of both, (about 4-5 hours, close to the skin for the last 2). I find Rochas a bit cloyingly sweet, and BK while I still find smells "exotic", doesn't really tickle my fancy.

Body Kouros is good but its heavily synthetic. heck , so is rochas, I guess it depends on what you are in the mood for. IMO, Rochas is more balanced and versatile but Body Kouros smells higher quality. BK more of a situation/scenario type fragrance, Rochas as an all arounder.

Body Kouros opening can throw a few people off but the mid and the dry down is really inviting. Its stays 8-10 hours on my skin and after the first hour stays rather close to the skin.
Own a bottle of all 3 (Le Male, Rochas Man and BK) and if you like Le Male then you will def like the mid and dry down of BK, you can actually get a little similarity between BK and Le Male.. Rochas Man is a good romantic fragrance but again close to the skin and stays 6-8 hours but the dry down though sweet is diff from Le Male

BK has a very distinct Eucalyptus opening, to some it can be offensive... But the opening on me does not stay for long..

You can't go wrong with either choice. To me, both will fall in gourmands. I get more compliments on Rochas. When I first got it, all the girls in the office went crazy. But, I think don't think you can go wrong. Both are safe buys. You could but both online for that price. Check fragrancenet.com or fragrancexcom our even 99perfume.com

I would say Rochas is a safer choice. From my experience BK is a love/hate frag. I personally fall in the hate category but you should definitely smell both first. BTW I know most say Rochas stays close to the skin but on me it is a sillage bomb.
