Recommend me 3 strong long lasting designer scents.

Im looking to purchase 3 colognes. I have basic aquatics right now so im looking to get 3 strong long lasting scents that last 10-16 hours that can be purchased at most stores.
No one can recommend what will last this long on your skin as chemistry is one of the variables in the equation. Instead, I recommend you go to a department store nearest you and obtain samples. What lasts one, may not last on you.
- Egoiste Platinum by Chanel

- Fahrenheit Absolute by Christian Dior

- Fuel For Life by Diesel

- A*Men (T.Mugler) and Le Male (Jean Paul Gaultier)................... for example

But more important is that the evidence in your skin!!

Excellent advice. For example, Armani Attitude is one that lasts all day on me yet most people here complain about it's longevity. I get all day out of it with great sillage also. Same with Armani Code. Try them out yourself as "designer" scents are easy to find in most department stores where they let you spray at will with testers (usually).

As for my skin, I get the best designer longevity from: Armani Attitude, Burberry Brit, and L'Occitane Eav des Bavx (not really a designer but in the same category).

I will have to agree on Joop and Obsession, from personal experience. Joop just wasn't my preference scent-wise.
Now Obsession (for men I presume, I do use both the men's and women's) I really enjoy. It is a traditional Amber powerhouse. I keep thinking of it as a nemesis to aquatic/fresh scents. Obsession is a little less casual. But you could happen to be just like me - one who enjoys the aquatics (though a little less often nowadays) and traditional powerhouses, well, good aquatics and good powerhouses of course.

I agree!
A couple of people wrote Burberry London as long lasting.
Not so sure about that... I read multiple times about the poor longevity on Burberry London.
I have a bottle myself and it doesn't last at all on me...

Long lasting fragrances on me :
M7
Chanel Egoiste Platinum
Bois du Portugal
Giorgio Beverly Hills

Do sample first...

212 for Men, Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme, and Rochas Man, but as one of the posts above this one states. A lot of fragrances are temperamental on various skin types and people. So longevity (and even scent development) varies from one person to another.

Prada Amber Pour Homme
A*Men
Le Male

Kouros, I'm pretty sure it'll last very long on most people.

I'm a little puzzled the sole criteria is "long lasting," but in my experience:

YSL Rive Gauche
A*Men
YSL Kouros

The longest lasting scents (on me) that are available in (most) stores would be:

Jaipur Homme Eau de Parfum by Boucheron

Pour Un Homme de Caron
Gaultier 2 by Jean Paul Gaultier

I think at this point the singular definition of "longevity" needs to be established. To some it means the length of time it takes to continue appreciating sillage. To some, the length of time they can smell a smidgen of the scent if they bury their noses in their test-spots. Some gauge it from a half-spray, some with two sprays. Some on skin, some on paper. These will all yield different results even to the same nose. Regardless, there are some long-lasting frags, and that is what the OP wants to know.

A lot of good choices have been mentioned, but more are:

Polo - Green and Modern Reserve
Boucheron Jaipur and pour Homme (especially the EDPs)
Herrera for Men
Salvador Dali pour Homme

I still have traces of YSL Kouros on from when I last applied. I last applied two or three days ago. I get similar longevity out of Thierry Mugler A*Men.

It lasts all day on me. You may want to try it on fabric if your skin doesn't hold it.

You might have the reformulated version...

I think I do. Only one side of the bottle is in red. How do I know the difference from the box? Does the original version have better longevity than the reformulated version? I absolutely love the drydown on this.

Azzaro Pour Homme
Rive Gauche
Kouros
It's not "designer," but if longevity is your top goal, I've never run into anything like Noir Epices. This is the only frag I've ever worn that lasted all day and through the shower the next morning. Brutally tenacious. Of course, you have to like the scent too.
Pasha? I am so sad it's not working on me...

My personal #1 is Antidote from Viktor and Rolf. 24h without problem.

Le No. 3 de Caron. Longevity is excellent on my skin.

That is the newer version yet, I don't know if it's an actual reformulation or just a packaging refresh.

I have to add; Gaultier2 ... just got it today,
and it last for hours and hours, good stuff!

I get extreme longevity with Green Irish Tweed, 8 hours minimum, which is very good considering how most in its "scent group" get about 4. LOL you can't sit there and say "I don't care what type of skin..you'll get 8 hours" with confidence? I've watched you on youtube, your reviews are just copies of everyone elses, let the guys like Tim and Mark and even CutlassSupreme take care of that. I would love to see your take on something more complex. Back to your 8 hour theory.. Lots of people get 6 hours out of Fahrenheit and Le Male, in the world of fragrances where longevity is what makes or breaks the cologne, the 2 hour differential is huge. Stick to something you know before making a fool out of yourself.

Yep, I agree with you on the Green Irish Tweed. I'm amazed that lots of people only get 3 or 4 hours out of it. I literally get round-the-clock, 24-hour longevity out of GIT. I'm not exaggerating. It's probably the longest lasting scent I've ever owned. My wife bought it for me years ago, and if I use more than two spritzes of it, she tells me she can "taste" it, it's so strong.

As for Fahrenheit and Le Male, I wouldn't want to get more than five minutes out of those.

You want strong, inexpensive and easy to find in a store? Get a bottle of Quorum. Easily a 12-hour scent, likely longer. Has brutal, macho, football stadium-clearing sillage too. It is the antithesis of an acquatic scent. Quorum is awesome.

Wow, talk about taking the GiT longevity comment personal. o_O I personally wore it today and I still got several hours out of it, even after going to the gym. I could probably squeeze 8-10 hours out of a wearing, I'd think. Not bad. If I really wanted to be nitpicky about the topic at hand though, Creed isn't exactly a designer house like Versace, Dior, Prada, Bulgari, Cartier, etc. either.

LOL @ "taste"
But ya I'm glad I'm not alone on this, GIT is serious high quality from the inside out, some days I do get 18+ hours out of it. Now sillage is another story, nothing is gonna project for the whole day. Yup, 2 sprays of GIT and you're good for most of the day. I think many people just expect more projection out of it because it's so expensive, but fragrances are meant to go on stronger then settle down to where nobody can really smell them unless they're up close to you.
I didn't take it personal, I'm just sick of people who think they know it all. If you knew me personally..you'd see that as technical and "insulting" as I may type sometimes, I'm quite likable. Cologne collecting has always been a passion for me, as pathetic as it may sound I would LOVE to sample every men's fragrance on the planet, lol. I lay down the facts with fragrances, and I call people out who don't know what they're talking about.
Bvlgari extreme. Last all day into the next morning.

+1 I think many people starting out with frags have a bit of an expectation/desire that a frag, especially a pricey one, will somehow be a sillage monster for hours and hours. They all settle down to a degree. And that's a good thing.

Often times longevity is inversely related to quality.

I find most designer fragrances last 10+ hours, easily.
