What is this?! Acqua di Gigli..!

I've just bought this 250ml splash at a fleamarked for DKR 100 ($20).

'Acqua di Gigli' (Waterlillies) from the ooold House of Santa Maria Novella.
Now, I did a web search and a search in BNs directory, I didn't find anything online,
but we do have lots of scents from that house here, just not this one in particular.

Howcome?

Can anybody tell me anything about this frag and/or house?!
It says on the box; 'profumo farmaceutica', so I guess it's some sort
of cheap Italian pharmacy perfume?
According to the seller it's suppose to be unisex.

Nice find Duke It looks 60s / 70s to my eye, then again all of their packaging is of this old apothecary style. Danish fleamarkets are THE BOMB!

Merci, mon chéri.
Could be from the 70s I guess,
it's really nicely kept then,
looks somewhat new.
But it was inside a second box,
so it has been stored nicely!
I find it very exciting ... exotic!

Yeah, Danish fleamarkeds can be
quite good!

Cool! According to google translate it says;

'Body lotion sweet scent of lilies. Skin firm resolution to give the Halifax.
And Cream is recommended after towards sports.'

Hmm?!

... mine looks quite watered down compared to the one in the picture,
the smell is strong though!

I found this about Santa Maria Novella the web;

'The Officina Profumo Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella is one of the oldest pharmacies in the world. The store in Florence, Italy opened to the public in 1612, but the fragrances and body products are based on recipes that the Dominican friars of Florence had been developing (using herbs from the monastery gardens) since the 13th century.'

Cool, I already looove this house!

It's not one of their eau de colognes, and looks like it's still in production. Here you go:

Le Grand Duc, I am sooo jealous of you ! I do think Santa Maria Novella produces some very good scents. As well, their quality is very good and I love the old style look of their packaging/bottles. Good for you. I hope you enjoy the fragrance.

Aah, I love having some good ol' envy comming my way!

I'm enjoying it very much, yes!
I splashed myself some 8 hours ago, and it still gives off
a nice, well, waterlillie'ish smell ... sooo good!
I'm a newborn fan of the House of Santa Maria Novella!

---EDIT---

For those interested, the box came inside a second
box from the company ... very cool!
