Orientals with an Emphasis on Citrus Notes

I don't like sweet scents generally, and I love Pierre Cardin PM. The amber is very light and not very sweet. It serves more to smooth out the whole accord, not to turn the whole fragrance into a syrupy slog. This is NOT A*Men, so don't worry about it being overly sweet. I look at it as a light oriental with a big emphasis on citrus, not sweet notes.

shamu1 posted this earlier on another thread concerning Pierre Cardin Pour Monsieur. I agree, and also see Chanel Pour Monsieur Concentree and Habit Rouge EDC in this light. Are there any other orientals with an emphasis on citrus notes that you'd recommend? Thanks.

From samples I've tried recently, Xerjoff Kobe, Parfums MDCI Invasion Barbare, Jacques Fath Parfums Pour L'Homme (but this is more oriental woody with citrus top notes).

Among those i personally use and like:

Boucheron pour Homme (especially the EDP)
Habit Rouge EDT Legere
YSL pour Homme
Chanel pH Concentree/Tiffany for Men

APOM Homme by Maison Francis Kurkdjian. A light oriental with a heavy emphasis on orange blossom.

SL Mandarin Mandarine and Omnia Ambra. The first is a sweet candied orange on a background of sweet spices, a touch of smoke and amber, the latter is an oriental gourmand with notes of orange over almond, vanilla, musk and amber. The SL is my go to fragrance for the holiday season - it just smells festive.

Yes, BpH 1991. Or if you find it too heavy, the flanker Boucheron pour Homme Edition Bleue is even more citrus-forward.

I searched for the Boucheron pour Homme Edition Bleue and couldn't find it anywhere. It must be highly coveted.

I believe it is a limited edition. Apparently, i indicated the name in the BN Directory. The bottle i have has Boucheron Eau Legere underneath. You could search with that name.

Yes Sublime is the name of the fragrance and I suppose 1992 is the year when it was launched. It's by Jean Patou.

I just thought of another one. Noir Epices by Frederic Malle. It's an oriental-chypre with mouthwatering orange-clove topnotes.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I found a full 2.5 oz bottle of Guerlain's Shalimar Eau Légère Parfumée for $47 and I went for it blind based on the reviews here. What a beautiful citrus-oriental...If only I would've of found you kind people earlier - the time and money I would've saved!

I don't think Bois du Turquie has an emphasis on citrus notes. Granted, it does have a wonderful citrus opening but that is quickly succeeded by the green leafy/herbal phase of bay and geranium, and then the floral accord of iris and jasmine over the light incensey/patchouli/sandalwood base dominates for a long time.

At least, on me it doesn't register as citrus oriented. I get much longer lasting citrus in say M7 Fresh or Antidote.

Then there are the Rochas Lui/Dunhill Desire (men)/Cuba Orange type frags, which are based on neroli, wood, vanilla, and patchouli (DD also has rose, making it a bit richer). I'm not sure if I consider these traditional orientals, but some people do.
