Can anyone date my Shalimar canister?

I bought a canister of Shalimar in a French antique shop a few
years ago and wondered when it dated from.
It looks exactly like this image of a Mitsouko canister:-



So sorry I've just looked at the bottle again and it's got a date on the bottom - 1968!!

OOps! Looks like I just answered my own question. It's a nice
item, however, and I wonder if it has any value? maybe Guerlain Lover
will chime in.

I believe this container was manufactured from 1968 up until 1982 when the lattice refillables were introduced.

That's the right answer! It's quite rare for the small extrait version but somewhat commonplace on eBay for the EdT.

I was about to write 'autumn 1968', but just saw you found the date yourself! (kidding)

What a fabulously gorgeous find! Now, do you have the appropriate French antique to display it on?

Those enamel-effect metal containers were gorgeous. I remember Chant d'Aromes came in one that had little red and gold flowers on a cream color background.
