Love that picture, Joe! It's great!

I've been feeling unwell -- chilly and sickly -- for the last few days. The Mitsouko I applied late yesterday really disagreed with me, so I am steering clear of anything of that ilk. I needed a floral with a bit of substance today, so went for Patou 1000.

Green Irish Tweed for me today.

Wish you all a terrific Thursday.

Still fighting the lurgy, this time wearing Bvlgari Blv. Trying for a homeopathic cure, with Blv's odd hot/cold temperature fluctuations, overlayed with a touch of the more traditional lemon and ginger. Bvlgari Flv?

A lazy Thursday in front of me as I am currently caught up on most of my "to-do" list.

For day four of amber week I am going for it as unadulterated as I can get it.

Madini Amber

Sometimes you just want your favorite things with nothing else around them. When I order bourbon I order it “straight, no chaser” because I don’t want any water to alter my enjoyment of it. In fragrance that opportunity comes along less frequently as most fragrances are compositions consisting of many notes. But like my bourbon there is just a time that I want to wear my favorite notes as unadulterated as I can get them. When I want to do that I turn to a small Moroocan perfumery Madini.

Madini, according to their history on the website, have been a family business for fourteen generations. Madini produces perfume oils that are strong and only require a small application to be surrounded in fragrance. At the price, for these kind of fragrances, Madini might be the best bang for your buck perfume House out there.

Madini Amber is nothing complex it is amber that has been beachcombed off the shoreline in Morocco, again according to their website i.e. take it with a grain of salt, and turned into Amber. This fragrance starts with the intense almost medicinal aspect that amber can give but the longer it is on my skin the warmer and softer it becomes and towards the end it almost takes on a woody aspect.

Madini Amber has excellent longevity and excellent sillage.

Amber is one of those notes, when used in other perfumes, that has a great deal of versatility. What is nice about wearing Madini Amber is all by itself that complexity is released over time while on my skin; straight, no chaser.

Have a Tranquil Thursday everyone.

Roberto, you smell DELICIOUS today!
Feel better, Soir!
Same to you, Petra, hope you fight off the lurgy successfully.

Eva Pasco - I love the quotes you've been posting, today's included. Thank you!

Sharing the house with Ubu in L'Artisan Parfumeur, Safran Troublant for me.

Best to all!

Ambre Sultan - Serge Lutens
was wearing Black Aoud yesterday

Caron - French Can Can
Yesterday it was springtime. Today there are large snowflakes falling
and another blanket of white covering the ground!
Time for some nasal trickery. This floral should make me think of summer.
I was once followed by a couple of frustrated bees while wearing this.

The fragrance notes are jasmine, lilac, violet, lily of the valley, rose, orange blossom,
patchouli, iris, sandalwood, amber and oakmoss.

I'm wearing Ma Griffe EdP today, just aquired after not having owned any for years. I'd forgotten how much I like it.

petruccijc - love the picture in your SOTD post. (giggle)

Feeling under the weather, as are some of you poor dears, so I have to be careful about a scent today so that I won't invite upon myself a nasty headache. Thinking that another day in Replique is a safe choice. Take care, all.

(Asha -- I voted for Jicky.)

I'm wearing Tom Ford's Arabian Wood. I have to say that it reminds me of Halston Z-14 quite a bit. A nice, 80s retro fougere/chypre, but what's actually Arabian about it?

Hi all,

I´m spending the day in the lovely Une Fleur de Cassie (FM).

Hugs and good thoughts to everyone of you.

I noticed I'm more attracted to citrussy fragrances, particularly of the orange variety

Happily enjoying the orangey, thin and light l'Artisan Mandarine Tout Simplement!

Hello dear BNers...last night, I arrived home to find my package from Neiman's had safely arrived. It included the three (!) fragrance samples in their GWP - which I tried on different parts of me - Balenciaga Paris (subtle skin scent - pretty - will retest), an Atelier (forget which one, but it had lots of orange, in a nice way! might be a good one in summer - will retest), and Van Cleef & Arpels (Oriens). Fruity floral with patchouli in the base - the descriptions sounds nice enough on the various websites, but it is absolutely wretched on me. I took a shower and doused myself with Boucheron for bedtime...

Today is shaping up to be one of those annoying days, unfortunately...place Raindrop on "low" and simmer for 8 hours. LOL

Lucky for me, I am wearing one of my favorites

SOTD: Chanel No. 19 (parfum)

Have a great day, dear friends...

Lovely day to all - I am wearing one of my favorites of last year, Back to Black. Kind of a tobacco-cousin to Antaeusintheair today.

Yesterday afternoon after work I spritzed on some AL No23 and bedtime wore Paestum Rose.

Feeling better after 3 decent night's sleep in a row!

Calm healing thoughts to all who need them!

Thanks for the afternoon tea, Lessa. I'm only now donning fragrance — and it was quite a chore. Looked through all my bottles and decants and samples — yes all — nothing was appealing, but I needed fragrance. What finally spoke to me? Mitsouko.

Lovin’ that scootering mouse avatar musse has deployed.

Just back from the most relaxing short break in the Lake District, bliss. Took some samples with me and wore mostly Ume and Midnight Violet (trying to use this so very sparingly!). For coming home to the rain today I wore Coco Mademoiselle.

Annick Goutal's Songes in the morning, and in the afternoon L'être aimee by Divine poured in a tissue paper and stucked to my nose to cover a horrid home scent poured by a coworker. It has saved my day (and my coleage's)

Get well soon, Soir!!

I wore JM Vanille & Anise for a day in Manchester at the agency I am working for. Applied at 8.30am. home at 7pm, didn't sniff myself once in between! Shocking news...

I am in my new and resplendent green floral, Safari edp, for the evening. Quite a bright and zesty shock after the smooth seduction of Tabac Aurea and Habanita all day. It is quite reminiscent of No. 19 (as you all said it would be), but more voluptuous and less austere and actually reminds me a lot of Diva and Z-14 as far as chypres go. Fabulous!

Old Spice tonight, just because..
