Wow, games are getting more exciting by the round!
Might be a good one for me, as long as RG stands up to its reputation.
I just hope Rive Gauche or No. 88 don't turn out to be my nemesis. Keeping fingers crossed.
Go Jicky!
Yes, Jicky, you 'ol gal, come on, you can do it, and stretch those legs out, son (Heritage)!
Go Heritage! Go Jicky!
wow! this is a close call! i had earlier today voted for No.88 and Heritage
post #9 of 63
I'm for 88 and Heritage, but it will be close. I really underestimated Rive Gauche.
Holy cow, I'm suprised. I guess wowen standing up for jicky makes a difference for jicky or I really underestimated it. As well as heritage

I voted the same way. Looks like this one is going down to the wire.
Wow! These are exciting contests! Go Heritage! Go Jicky! Bluesoul...yer a genius.

If Rive Gauche slips right here it'll be the biggest upset thus far, and wreck a lot of brackets. No. 88 too.
bluesoul - is there a possibility to RIG this poll? :P
post #15 of 63
well, RG might merely survive, severely challenged, but looks like with 88 a big one IS going down..

Lol, I'm sure where there's a will there's a way, but cheating in a game like this falls squarely under the category of "missed the point".
This is where being able to see who voted for what would come in handy... It would be interesting to see how many new members with very recent join dates and little to no posts voted...
Uh oh, we need some Jermyn Street gentlemen reenforcements right now! That's a code 88.
I expected Rive Gauche PH to put up a fight, but I thought Heritage would have a clear lead by now. Rive Gauche is good, but it's HERITAGE!!!! Come on guys!

And as classic as Jicky is, I remember when every other thread used to be about No. 88!
I will loose all faith in humanity if Heritage looses to Rive Gauche...
Guerlain brigade in full swing I guess?

You'v got to be kidding me.
A draw? In BOTH matches?what's going on here?
I think it's about time that I log in with my 8 shell accounts and break this draw.

Rive Gauche & Jicky! All the way! All the way!
Heritage has a 1 point lead over Rive Gauche PH! This is exciting. I'm going to keep refreshing.
N0 88 and Jicky both get my vote
Jicky baby, you just got to do it. You are almost there. Just another nudge or two and then you'd be in victory land.

Rive Gauche, you've put up a good show. Great but don't push your luck too far. You are battling indomitable Guerlain heritage *no pun intended*.
Its hard to go against a Guerlain - ANY Guerlain in the last couple of years. I know there is a certain prestige and history behind the brand, but it was still there before LVMH acquired it and saved it from trouble. I didn't see this much adulation and goo goo gaa gaa a few years ago, when the Guerlain scents themselves might have been in a better shape than they are right now.

As far as I am concerned, I will take the currently available Rive Gauche over the currently available Heritage anyday. And I will take the currently available No. 88 over the whole stuble of currently available Guerlains anyday.

This one is going down to the wire.

Dan: what time exactly is this one ending? Could you add the finish time in addition to the date for future matches?

I have noticed that all games are generally uploaded daily between 5:30AM GMT & 6:00AM GMT.

That leaves us at least 6 more hours from the time I make this post.
This is a titanic struggle among 4 fragrances that consider themselves to be at least equals. A double duel to the death on the edge of a cliff! Wow..I need a beer! Mercy!
This is SO close! All four frags have 45 votes each!
Geez, it's like watching last weekend's WV/'Nova and USC/Arizona at the same time! Thank goodness my Gators are keeping Auburn at arm's length right now. I don't think I could handle any more excitement!
I hear you kbe, and have opted for a Gin and Tonic! All are nose-and-nose at 46 votes right now!
Woah, Heritage alone got 4 votes in a row in the last hour. This could spell doom for Rive Gauche!
Comparing their current formulations Rive Gauche homme is superior to Heritage EDT, even in the quality of materials.

Was more of a Mouchoir de Monsieur guy myself...No.88 can't lose to Mouchoir thin Civet fart !

It's 24 hours after whenever the thread initially goes up, so 12:03AM CST (GMT -6) in this instance. I'm not quite machine enough to have them consistently go at midnight but just note the start time of the thread and add a day.
I think the female vote will tilt this towards Guerlain ..
C'mon Rive Gauche! You can do it! Enough of Guerlains. We need to spread the field.

"Hey sweetie, do you want to join Basenotes and vote in the March Madness poll really fast?"

"No."

"Ha haha. That's okay, I was mostly kidding. Mostly."
I so wish I could poll twice or even better thrice !

So apparently these polls aren't closing as they should, something I'll have to chalk up to the most recent update. This poll will no longer take votes after 12:03AM Central, so here in about 12 minutes.

This one's officially over.

Heritage def. Rive Gauche, 50-49
No. 88 def. Jicky, 51-48

There wasn't much call for a BMM Hall of Fame before, but I'd throw these two games in it in a heartbeat.
No team slouched on this one!
Oh, come on. Jicky is so much more original and interesting than No. 88.
Woohoo! No. 88 should be a shoe-in into the conference finals now. But then again, stranger things have been happening in these polls.

On one level I tend to agree with you, since I have three bottles of Jicky (one edt and two pdts) and one hand/body lotion of it, buuuuut, in keeping with capitalism, I voted for the one I don't have since I take what I've got already for granted.

I'll take responsibility for one of No.88's votes and thus one fewer of Jicky's.
Poor Jicky.

I had RG over LADDM in the next round too. Oh well!
