Tobacco Vanille Versus Musc Ravageur Versus Chergui

Tobacco Vanille has a great aroma that lasts and I find the tobacco and vanille walk hand in hand not overpowering each other. The scent is linear but I find it a delight to wear.

Musc Ravageur has that dirty vanille/cinnamon fragrance going on and I like this as well. Its the one I go for if I am going to a nightclub or a good night out. The only thing with this is I find it very potent in its strength/sillage. One spray to the chest is enough and even then if it gets hot in a room I can smell the fragrance more and more. On me this is a real powerhouse of a scent.

Chergui for the first few hours is a delight with the honey hay tobacco aroma and is very comforting. But when it drys down on the skin you are left with this to sweet powder scent which gets a bit wearisome after a while.

Out of these three sweet orientals I like Tobacco Vanille the best as it is a better all- rounder.

I love 3 of them. but TV is the winner. It is simply wonderful and hi quality and excellent. Just like you said, the scent is linear. The tobacco and vanillne notes are very balanced to eachother.

MR is just wonderful about the first one hour. After that, the scent is quite simple and light and weak. Just vanille and cinnamon, which I feel a little boring.

Chergui is great. It is complex, wearable, seductive and beautiful. But after about 4 or 5 hours, Chergui drydown is very similar to BVL Soir pour homme.

This thread is so perfect for me right now.

I have been testing Musc Ravageur for the past few weeks and I love it.. but after a few hours, it kind of goes away. I am a huge Tom Ford PB fan and had a sample of TV and just sprayed it for the heck of it last weekend. While I used to not like it, it is kind of growing on me.

I searched for Musc Ravageur on basenotes and this thread came up. I am debating whether to go MR or PB. I am not at all familiar with Chergui so I guess I need to track that one down also.

What do y'all think?

I am a nightclub DJ and like my fragrances strong, intense and unique. A few that I currently have in rotation are Frapin Caravelle Epicea, Nasomatto Black Afgano, Custo Men, Costume National Scent Intense, CDG2, Creed Bois du Portugal and a few of the other PBs (Italian Cypress, Amber Absolute)

MR all the way!

Of the three, I prefer Musc Ravageur

Chergui would be my choice out of the three, but I like all of them.

I've never smelt Chergui but absolutely love TV and MR. I actually find them quite similiar in the drydown. Both are strictly for the fall and winter IMO.

I haven't smelled Musc Ravageur yet, Chergui I don't dislike but it doesn't do anything for me either and Tobacco Vanille I like as a comfort scent but doubt I'll ever wear it in public or even buy a full bottle...

but between Tobacco Vanille and Musc Ravageur, TV takes the crown!

Never cared for Chergui, but I love Musc Ravageur and Tobacco Vanille.

TV all the way...though I'd like to re-test MR.

Chergui is too sweet and powdery for me. I find the honey overbearing.

When I want a sweet warm scent, personally, I think Tea for Two is better than all of these. I'm sure I'm a minority there... Of the three, I'd choose TV.

Out of those mentioned I'd take TV, for the price I'd rather buy Pure Havane..

Second that!

Never tried MR but when I start to read reviews of this I can't see this being something a lady would like you to wear. Here in Texas anyways they tend to take a liking to cleaner, fresher citrus scents. Smelling like a cinnamon bun isn't my thing...I rather eat it!

Chergui IMHO is the better scent with its smokey, honey tobacco scent. Great scent but I would wear it only at home, I would rather smell this on a woman.

TV is the most wearable of the three, great tobacco vanilla scent...masculine of all the three. So to me is the best one of them because its more wearable but not Thee most wearable. Only issue I get is that the tobacco vanilla together smells like rootbeer and I would rather drink it but ladies doesnt say anything bad bout this unless their sparing my feelings...I own this and pure havane...figure out which one I prefer. Cheers!
