Jacques Fath, Green Water - Any Similar Colognes Around?

I recently got a sample of Jacques Fath, Green Water. It accompanied a full bottle of Balmain, Monsieur Balmain, buyed without testing. Now I regret. Not that the Monsieur Balmain didn't live up my expectations, it does. A full citric blast with something ... brut, Germain Cellier again. But the Green Water makes me curious. The vendor did his job well, in inviting me to test it.

I adore that humble simply fizzy attitude of Green Water. It escorts my own BO without fighting, nor does it contrast it to much. It remains a slightly fresh and inoffensive undercurrent. Additionally it doesn't interfere with other 'male' fragrances, if they are applied later for the evening. The lesser longevity is highly appreciated! A perfect -eau- de cologne, and not at least snobby in its originality.

So I wonder, is there any similar?

1. Creed Selection Verte
2. Molinard Double Fraicheur

There are other citrus/mint/green scents which are light and natural, bot those are the only two which closely share a very similar scent.

I purchased a few samples off them two weeks back including Green Water and I found it to be a very pleasant long lasting fragrance, which surprised me because I fouund Pour l'homme and Yang pour homme from the same company quite bad.

I've copied this from my Basenote review, I continue to think this is true.
I see Green Water in a continuum of citrus herbal scents. At the simple end is Pino Silvestre , at the complex end is Penhaligon’s Blenheim Bouquet , in the middle is GW. All three have an icy-cool, somewhat astringent personality. But GW and BB are lovelier and much more complex than the very basic PS.
Also check out L'Occitane en Provence, "4 Voleurs" which performs very well.

All that being said, Green Water is has a distinctive appeal.

Also, which version of Green Water is this?
is that cardboard more of a leaf green, with a matte finish (1993 version) ?
or is it a more teal green, with a glossy finish (2008 relaunch)?

I have tested both extensively, so I can recommend further if it is the relaunch.
Also, do you have a specific point that you like most?
Try to describe this point, as there are recommendations which will share certain notes but not the entire composition

In my personal opinion, only Creed's Selection Verte stands level with Green Water. Which is unfortunate, because of SV's rather high price. I wore Green Water extensively through the 1970's and '80s. It went through a reformulation in the early 1990s - not a bad reformulation, just a little tweak to make it more overtly masculine. It probably has undergone another reformulation but apparently the fragrance retains a lot of appeal.

It's glossy. The notes - mmh. I don't like 'notes'. But, as this is a quite natural composition, I would say it is the citric/mint on top to the middle plus the dried juniper berry. The latter has conifer woody and spicy, peppery aspects, a faint fruity undercurrent. In my conception it's a male fragrance.

O/k, I've read the reviews on Molinard and on the infamous Creed. Both seem to emphasize a fresh opening. I think the good thing with Green Water is, the citrus/mint combined with the juniper berry: Gin Fizz, a cocktail. I never drank that, never knew how is is mixed, really. But it's a delicious combo as a scent. Juniper keeps the top of the fragrance crackling avoiding tartness. It has pepper, wood and just as much red dry fruit to relax that classic masculine tones. The fruity undercurrent takes over while the citrus/mint vanishes. The interaction displays itself self-evident, with ease and simplicity.

I really like Green Water ( I have the '08 relaunch). We had some warm weather here for the first time in months this week and I wore it as my SOTD a couple days ago. I bought this blind last year and I like it more with each wearing.

I finally bought it. Not at least because a vendor lowered the price to 45$$/100ml tax included and I will walk years with that, literally. It will have to compete with Acqua Colonia 1870 by Borsari (office) and Clarins, Eau Ensoleillante (beach wear) or Sisley, Eau De Campagne. Uuups, to much ... fortunately I bought a convertible recently. Just hope my zillage is appreciated in town.
