Going to Nordstrom, which niche are definate "must try".

I'm going to nordstrom tomorrow. I'm going to be picking up a bottle of GIT most likely. But since I'm driving all the way there, might as well try some other stuff.

I'm looking for unique, non-mainstream/designer scents. Masculine but not "old smelling" (i.e. no creed bois du portugal), no powdery, no gourmands, not too fruity.

Something appealing, appropriate for spring, sexy. Project and longevity must be moderate at the least.

if you have any suggestions, fire away! thanks

Your Nordstroms are better than mine! The few I've been to have been full of nothing but high end and semi-exclusive designer like Acqua di Parma, Annick Goutal, and Hermes. If you're not absolutely certain they have Creed it may be worth calling before you make the trip.

My suggestions, from what I know is available there:

Hermes - Terre d'Hermes
Tom Ford - Grey Vetiver
Cartier - Declaration and Declaration L'Essence (you may like Declaration Bois Bleu, too)

this nordstrom is one of the very few, if not the only, nordstrom in California, USA that carries the entire Creed line. they have TONS of fragrances.

so feel free to suggest mostly anything. i'm sure they might have many of them

My Nordstorm is like a Macy's that carries Hugh Parsons, some Hermes and thats about it.
BUt now that I moved to Troy there's a Saks here at Sommerset that I really want to go to and try some niche.

If you are going to the South Coast Plaza Nordstrom, they have a Guerlain boutique... you should probably at least take some sniffs...

They have the entire Tom Ford private blend collection (some of them are great no matter what the naysayers might tell you)

Ask for Dustin... tell him Guy sent you.

There is a Discounter in the Arden mall that has Creed, it looks and smell's legit to me and he carries a decent variety of stuff there. He charges 179.00 I believe but the closest official retailer that I know of is Nordies in Walnut Creek.

That's where I'll be headed

But I may check out Arden also. Know the name of his shop by any chance? is it Fragranza?

Fragranza, It's on the lower level by Sears. I got my bottle of vintage M7 from him as well as Egoiste both for around 70ish a bottle from what I remember. Not the greatest prices but I like to support local business I guess.

According to Amouage's website, Nordstrom here carries Amouage. They must hide them somewhere, because I have never seen them. Although, truth be told, the SAs there tend to shoo me away from anything but the men's section.
