Hello all,
Our family just got a new dog. We got her from a shelter today, and because she was so coveted, there had to be a silent auction to see who would get her - we ended up winning. The shelter sent her directly to a vet, where she was spayed, and was outfitted with one of those "lamp shade" collars. She's a cocker spaniel, and we all love her to death already. She's gorgeous, and I've never experienced such a loving, sweet, and kind dog - All she wants to do is love and please her owners, and is very quiet. She already walks around, and rests on the couch like she's been living here for years.
The problem is that I noticed that my nose felt a mild stinging/burning after playing with her all day. I'm not sure, but it might be allergies, and I really hope that it's not from her. Besides the two outside dalmatians that we used to have years ago, we also had two long-haired indoor cats, which gave me absolutely no problems. Further, I've been to numerous shelters looking for dogs, and have had no problem either.
I'm going to get some Claritin, as well as give her a wash and dust some of the furniture, to see if that helps. I'd really appreciate if anyone has any input, because honestly, I couldn't fathom anything other than keeping her. My family and I both love her very much already.
Thanks.
