Does Sephra accept gift returns for store credit?

I was just given a box of Vintage by John Varvatos as a present, and having smelled the fragrance before, I'm not a huge fan of it. Unfortunately, I don't know where my friend got it from (I believe she shops at Nordstrom, but I'm not sure). Does anyone know if I can return it to the Sephora nearby for store credit? Or do they require a receipt with a return.

If they don't, I am sure you could find a nice swap for it.

Heh, unfortunately I'm not much of a prolific poster, and can't make a thread in any of the marketplace sections. Also, the two fragrances I'm planning on acquiring (The One / True Religion) I've been unable to find here. :[

Well Friend! I have no personal experience with Sephra in such a case but i also tried to return one gift to some shop and they said it is not possible. At most i was offered to bring that friend along and replace it with any other perfume i want.
So you better contact with your friend and be frank to tell him, you want a change in the gift
i hope he is understanding goodluck
