The other Basenotes March Madness, on ESPN.com

What good is one without the other? Not much, in my questionable estimation. I took the liberty of setting up a group on ESPN.com for Basenoters to try their hand at predicting the NCAA men's basketball tournament.

There is no password, you're able to create up to three brackets. I don't know if people are interested in putting any money on it, I'd have to get Grant's approval on something like that.

EDIT: Also, please create your brackets with your username on here somewhere obvious.

Done! Whew! I wasn't sure if I'd get around to filling out a bracket this year. Yes, "A" bracket, singular. No way I'm doing this a second or, heaven forfend, a third time. I think you'll like my choices!

(Not interested in betting; I always lose when I bet. )

Edit: I'm P. Treesloth, short for Princess Treesloth, a nickname my husband gave me one wretchedly hungover morning in New Orleans. The cure, once I attained vertical alignment and quit clinging to the column of the four poster bed in our hotel room, was a bloody mary at Napoleon House. The Big Easy is not entirely without mercy.

And there goes my bracket.

I forgot, Daniel, that you're in Kentucky and shades is in Kansas. I'm thinking Kentucky is just a little to young to get past WV, but obviously what do I know?

I told Daniel that I don't do brackets ... too superstitious.

I'm sorry that Kansas wrecked everyone's bracket. I'm sure I will ok in a few weeks ...

You can say that again. In the beginning of the season, I was saying Duke. Did I eat my words or what.

I would honestly agree with you, but I went to Louisville.

Ah. Well I am a Rick Pitino admirer, due both to his influence on Billy Donovan and his great years at Kentucky. I also root for Tubby Smith in Minnesota, although he hasn't yet fared as well there as I expected. Man, the Big 10 is strong. I often wonder if Pitino would be equal in record and reputation to Coach K at Duke if he hadn't made that unfortunate trip to the NBA. I also suspect that's a big reason why Donovan ultimately decided against coaching the Orlando Magic.

I like UK's chances a little more now that WV is without Darryl Bryant, but then I was guessing Purdue wouldn't get past sometime-Cinderella Sienna without Robby Hummel so, again, what do I know?

shades~ I know you're still hurting. (((hugs))) You'll get 'em next year!
