Amaryllis belladonna in fragrance.

I don't know if any of your remember the days when the typical rural home had a white picket fence with Amaryllis belladonna (aka: naked ladies) flowering on tall stems, the foliage not developing till after blooming. The wonderful smell they gave off rings positive in my memory. Any fragrances that you know of reflect this odor? I am having a tough time remembering the exact smell, but I remember liking it very much. Of course I was young then and many moons have risen and set.

Amaryllis belladonna (aka: naked ladies) are indeed gloriously scented- quite common around town in Santa Barbara CA.
I planted some bulbs and get the leaves, but no blooms- I need to move them to a sunnier spot.

Alas, I have no personal knowledge of scents based on this flower.
