My next PURCHASE out of this 4 FRAGS should be?

Hi basenoters,

living in a scent diaspora, I have to blind buy most fragrances, regarding the reviews here on basenotes.
The four candidates of my next purchase are: Givenchy Gentleman
Bijan for men
Giorgio for men
Escada pour homme (EDP?)
Which of this 4 frags would you buy?

I don`t like intrusive sweets/fruits and acclaim a solid longevity and sillage (being not a loud perfume redneck but a proponent of the essential per fumum idea!).

Any other suggestions?

Thanks to you,
Ciao

I'd go with Option no. 4.

Thanks Dimitri,
also in the edt version?

I'd go with the Escada edp as well.

Giorgio for Men gets my vote!

I would only choose Givenchy Gentleman if it is the vintage version.

And to make you completely confused;
I'd go with Givenchy Gentleman!

My personal choices in order of preference would be Escada PH, Givenchy Gentleman (you have to like patchouli), then Giorgio (a great nostalgic scent for me personally). I don't care too much for Bijan, but it has its admirers.

I suppose, Givenchy Gentleman (the new one) is the less extroverted representative of this four...

EDP or EDT - both are great. Though since so few houses actually produce EDP's for men, I would advise the EDP

Escada pour Homme for me.

my vote goes to Escada PH

Any of these: Givenchy Gentleman (vintage if possible) or Escada EdP (i have and love the EdT version, but is has a very short longevity)

Either Givenchy Gentleman or Escada, thus seconding what previous posters adequately suggested

Giorgio For Men, very Underated

another vote for Givenchy Gentleman, amazing drydown and monster of sillage.

Givenchy Gentleman

Of the options I'd go for Givenchy Gentleman too.

My choice of the four would be Giorgio for Men by Giorgio Beverley Hills.

Giorgio for Men and Givenchy Gentleman were amongst my last 5 purchases. I recommend them both very highly! In my opinion Givenchy Gentleman is a fragrance which seems to lend itself to the occasions where you might want to get dressed up a bit - not formal but smart as opposed to casual. Giorgio for Men strikes me as a more versatile fragrance feeling comfortable whatever the occasion!

They are both very powerful, high quality fragrances with generous sillage and lasting power (although it has to be said the Giorgio would win the longevity competion hands down! It's unstoppable..!)

GIORGIO. It's tremendously long-lasting and uniquely gorgeous. Plain perfect.

Pawel

I think you should start a new thread. You're going to get people responding to the original post.

Escada pour homme (EDP?) > Givenchy Gentleman > Giorgio for men > Bijan for men
post #27 of 35
Givenchy Gentleman from the first list and Kouros from the second one. All of your choices are quite different from each other, though, so it really depends on your taste!

Ah, the quintessential BN thread: Ask for a choice between 4 fragrances, receive 5 different answers!

I feel the pain of not having a good local resource for testing purposes, which is why I would suggest buying samples (preferably from other BNers) before ever blind-buying any bottles.

I would choose Dior Homme from your list and Escada ph from the OP.

Givenchy Gentleman

Dior Homme by far.

The guidelines in the Board rules are not to bump up an old thread when it is over six months old.
Grant wants you to start a new thread.

As to your question - I'd look around till I found two discounted enough that they were less than the cost of any one of them retail. Then I'd buy those two. That way they select themselves.
Cheers,
Renato
