none there to man y

Man, this is so dependent on the style someone enjoys most. This is why there are distinct types, or classifications to separate them. Some people simply don't like orientals. Some hate aquatics, while other love them. It's all a matter of taste, experience & preference. That being said, since there are many "classics" that I haven't had the pleasure of testing, yet, from my current experience I'll have to go with Green Irish Tweed. It's just very hard for me to find fault with this masterpiece, other than I don't find it especially suited for really cold weather.

I have yet to test Egoiste, but based on my knowledge of it, collective reviews and feedback, if I didn't go with GIT, I'd have to guess this would be near, or at the top of the list.

For me, it's either Kouros or Fahrenheit.

Christian Dior Fahrenheit

Derby or Patou pour homme... probably the first one.

+1 on that! It is as masculine as can be. Hindi Oud oils are so masculine as to be hard to wear, Borneo Oud oils are ethereal masculine and Cambodian Oud oils are fruity masculine. These oils have been worn for a very long time.

It's even been around since before Creed!!!!

one has to be on a very high level of altitude (of fine taste with perfect smelling sense and great exposure) of expertise to answer this question .

otherwise on ground level there will be definitely more than hundred fragrances competing for this coveted title.

One would be M by Puredistance.

Setting my personal preferences aside as much as one can, my vote goes to Patou pour Homme Privé by Jean Patou.

It wasn't unisex at all, actually it was "pour lui". It was created specifically for cavemen that went "clubbing", get it?

I believe you are just kidding, aren't you?
IMO Cool Water is a mediocre perfume at best, and coming from me, a true fan of Pierre Bourdon

I would agree here, but I would add "the original version"
For those of us that had the privilege of wearing the original Guerlain Vetiver, this is a fragrance that will never be surpased. The current version is just a pale shadow of the original.

Another great perfume not available today that I would consider to be one of the best, if not the best, is Jean Patou pH.

The original, vintage, Chanel Egoiste.

this is not easy but i will try and say that the best should be an unique one so my choice goes to Hombre by Victorio & Lucchino

All depends on the nose and personal prefference. But IMO I think the best fragrances are the ones that can be worn for every type of situation in other words... the most versatile fragrances are the best

I'll have to go with vintage Chanel L'Egoiste.
