Mysticknot, have a safe journey home!

Still wanting to wear rose scents, today it's Rosine's Rose Kashmirie.

Have a wonderful Thursday!

I´m wearing the sparkling green and sweet Gardenia (Taylor/Arden) today. It´s been raining here for a few days, now, plus a chilly wind.
Will camp inside, by the fireplace, today. Telly and/or reading, I guess.

Hiya all,
I'm back to the land of the living after a looong spell of arthritis pain, and on top of that I had a bad reaction to a shot I had at the hospital. I've had a really high temperature for three days and I've felt more dead than alive.

Today I'm fine though, I've got new meds for my arthritis and I'm so looking forward to the long Easter holidays. The sun is out here in southern Sweden, birds are chirping away and I'm in Coco Mademoiselle for the day.

Have a good April Fool's day everyone! I love what someone's done to the avatars :-)
Many posters this morning! We are having the last day in the 80-s F, and then the temps will drop back to normal for the north.

Welcome home, MK! We also stopped by the travel agency to inquire about the airfairs to go see my European mom this coming summer -- project in the works!

Happy April Fool's and please be prepared for the pranks and jokes today.

Lys Meditteranee from Malle for me again, hooked on this stuff.

Finally, saw How to Train Your Dragon last night -- can't recommend it enough for the whole family, especially if you have teenagers in the house -- wonderful animation, graphics, attention to the detail, humor. Very nice!
Trikkirikki- I hope your troubles abate SOON
RHM- I hope you're healing up, darling.
MK- safe and joyous return, my dear !
Twolfie : I'm mad for those dragons; they make me smile, every time ;D

Busy days ahead, but I'm soon to be fortified by B's famous CAWFEE, and MH Jasmin Vert-
An elegant and verdant take on jasmin sambac.

Grapefruit, boronia, and green mandarin open the curtain, to reveal a soft sambac / jonquil/ rose heart.
A base of hay, violet leaves, and sandalwood help underscore this lovely floral.

Be well, go well-
FEEL well.
MWAH .
Jasmin Noir today. Possibly too heady for a bright spring morning, but OH BOY I'm loving it.
For the first of April I'm in Annick Goutal Folavril. So lovely.

Best to those feeling poorly and a great day to all!
Musse...glad to see another enthusiast for ET's Gardenia...I can't seem to get it out of my head like the kicker in a julep or two...I'll be spritzing that today again.

Good morning, everyone!

Happy April Fool's Day everyone!

I am scentless for now...on my way to Barney's and Essenza though, so I shall be smelling fine soon.

I hope you have a safe trip Mysticknot

Funny Avatars! Do we have Grant to thank for that?
Hi everybody,

I've had a very buisy but fun week. Met VM I hate civet for dinner in Basel on tuesday. She baffled me with her near perfect German. We spoke German all evening long, laughed a lot and sniffed perfume in the restaurant. It came to the point where I had to search for free skin and was starting to get worried that we would be kicked out of the restaurant for offending the other guests. But no one complained.

Then today, I got a message from VM I hate civet saying she was standing in a supermarked in front of a bottle of Chateau de Potiron. How cool is that? I didn't know someone named a wine after me.

SotD is Guerlain Bois d'Armenie kindly provided by the lovely lady mentioned above.
Oh yeah...I gotta get to them Dragons, too. The promos are enchanting and who could not love a flick where the hero's name is Hiccup!!

Chaya I've been remiss in getting off you parcel - couldn't find the appropriate box. But it will be in the post tomorrow - arriving (hopefully) in time to revive you after all that work!

MK - it'll be good to have you on home ground again. And TrickyRicky...hope you're on the mend.

Unfortunately I've found this GREAT jasmine? Unfortunate because it seems to be out of production already. Anyway, not available on the site. Yves Rocher's
TENDRE JASMIN

Totally missing that slight metallic edge some of the more brilliant jasmines...rounded and lush with an orange blossom whiff. Just LUVVIN' it.

(WHAT Avatars?)

Folavril, with tdem, for April Fool's Day!

Love the Avatars! I'm still drinking my tea so it took a minute ....

SoTD Jasmal by Creed my bulbs are making their way up.

apparently only some of the members are seeing the muppets avatars (me included). There's two threads about that (one of them on the off topic section). Most of the people posting there are seemingly not believing the ones claiming to see the muppets avatar and all are getting a little cranky. Here's what I am seeing:

and pardon for the off topic post. I'm sure it's just a april fool's joke (I'm actually quite fond of the muppet animal avatar) but a few are starting to get panicky.
OK, it took me a while to catch on to the avatars I kept thinking, "why is the same person posting differenct scents for the day?"
I must be the fool for April Fools Day.
Stepping out in Delrae Bois de Paradis.
Oooh I was wondering why so many muppets! haha
post #30 of 73
The first sunny day in a very long time. Etro Dianthus for me!
Guerlain layering: Mahora mixed with Vetiver. Not an April Fools joke... it's actually quite wonderful. Tart citrus, warm and earthy-green vetiver and tobacco, all coupled with sweet, vanilla-coconut frangipani and tropical tuberose-jasmine-ylang.

Have a great day all.

Thymes Fig Leaf & Cassis while DH is away from the house. Plenty of employment/work, housework to keep me busy. Would love to spend more time outside and working on the HW blogsite, but gotta do what I gotta do.

Wish I had more time for my smelly friends here.

Good morning all! Sun is peeking out here in NYC but we are still a bit temperate...although the weather reporters promised 70 degrees today. We shall see.

I started my day in Van Cleef & Arpels Murmure, a woody floral with a cedar base and heart of jasmine. When I first bought it (unsniffed, on eBay, on a whim because I was buying something else from the seller and this looked interesting) I didn't like it. Felt it was too floral, too white. But a year later, I quite like it. I am one of the (lucky?) few that can tame jasmine...she does not amp into a riotous indolic shout on me. Here is a nice review at Scented Salamander

Notes (also from SS): Top notes include freesia and white rose with essence of mandarin orange; heart notes are made up of jasmine sambac absolute, orange blossom and cassie flower, and the base notes are comprised of Brazilian rosewood, cedar and vanilla infusion.

On me, the freesia last quite a long time, blending gently into the orange flower over time. The cedar is present from the very beginning and hangs on long, with rosewood emerging more as the drydown continues.

I will be in something big and cheerful this first day of April..

Re. the avatar thing... I wonder if we were hacked overnight and I missed it all, being a west-coaster! Too bad, it sounds like quite the prank! Well, anyhoo, Happy April Fool's, I will kick the arse of anyone who tries to pull a fast one on me!

Un Jardin Sur Le Nil

Sensuous lotus and sycamore caressed by subtle aquatic notes.
Jean Claude Ellena's tour de force.

The notes are: green mango, lotus flower, aromatic rushes, incense, sycamore wood.

I'm wearing Fumerie Turque today.

Our weeping cherry tree is blooming today! We planted it last summer after it had bloomed, so this is the first time I have seen it with blossoms. Surely that means Spring is finally here!

Have a good day everyone.

Jicky for today.

It's Animal!! aahhhh! So cute.

Chergui today.

Last night I had a dream I finally got to sample the new Parfumerie Generale Papyrus de Ciane, which I've been dying to try. (I love having dreams about fragrance). Anyway, Saturday I'm going to L.A. with a friend - I think we'd better stop by Scent Bar for a sniff!
Hey there - all you crazy Animals! Ha!

Thinking about this weekend's SnS - Florals! Yeah! Looks like last year's April SnS was narrowed down (somewhat) to spring florals - sounds lovely! I was reading through all the things sampled...I do love my roses, but am thinking that it would be another good reason to track down that sample of Manoumalia, which may well be my next FB. Anyhow...

SOTD: Paco Rabanne Calandre

I do love the "green florals", and this one is absolutely superb (nice price, too!). Love the BN reviews on this one (agree wholeheartedly with vintage*red!)

Mysticknot - Hope you have a safe and not-too-uncomfortable trip home! Will be thinking of you!

Two little dabs of vintage Cabochard bath oil on my wrists (SO PRETTY, ugh). And a little spray of Amouage Epic Woman. Lovely!

Also, haha. I'm so out of it. I was like "Wow, these people really like Animal!" this morning. It took me ten minutes before I 'got' it. Dur.
Mochi227, I have Murmure and wear it once in a while, but I have to be in the mood -- just like you said -- white florals and woods. I have been having a partial bottle of it for sale in the Sale forum for the longest time and nobody was even remotely interested.

Anyhow, we are as hot as Florida here today -- my thermometer is showing 82F, but it is the last day of warm weather, they said. Spritzing on some Terre d'Hermes for the afternoon.

Tao, the names are funny (twins, Roughnut and Toughnut, for example), the humor is dry, the ships, seascapes/landscapes are magnifisent, almost said that makeup and costumes (hahahaha) would be nominated for the Academy Award, and then decided that they probably would not! :-)

Aloha to my fragrant sistahs and bros! I am on vacation in my homeland and very happy to be here. SotD is Vanilla Galante.

Chaya, that MH Jasmin Vert sounds like my kind of thing thanks for the description!

Zibeline, you smell extra-pretty in your Dianthus. Love that one.

Happy travelling, Mysticknot, and welcome home!

Trikkirikki, so sorry you are having problems. Hugs to you.

RainDropSparkle (waving from island to island), I recently discovered Calandre, too. I really like it despite the slightly scary aldehydes!

I love that description - "slightly scary aldehydes" - goes along with Animal's slightly scary but adorable grin. Happy vacation H! (I'll PM you later!)
