Thread Starter
Some frag houses surpass the others in style, class, quality, customer service, and whatever else you can think of. Name 3 of the best fragrance houses in your eyes, be it designer or niche.

1.Creed
2.Thierry Mugler
3.Yves St Laruant
1. Chanel
2. Hermes

I say all of them

For members new and unfamiliar with men's scents:

Guerlain
Caron
Hermes/Dior (tie)

Those give a grounding in the classics. After those a person's nose has a good idea about likes and dislikes and is "educated" for lack of a better term. After those are familiar the drama of:

L'Artisan Parfumeur
Diptyque
Givenchy/YSL/MPG (tie)

Makes them my 3 best for this thread.
01 Yves Saint Laurent (easily)
02 Chanel
03 Caron
GUERLAIN
Maitre Parfumer et Gantier
Caron
I don't know about the best, but three I've been wearing a lot lately are Guerlain, PDN and Chanel.
Guerlain
Givenchy
YSL

Oh, heck, I can't commit...
Since this is in the Male fragrance forum,
I will rate the houses slanted to how great their masculine/unisex scents are,
disregarding the greatness of Chanel & Guerlain's feminines.

A Top-3 in terms of overall level of taste across the range, scent quality, and range across many genres:

1. Creed
2. Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier
3. Caron
I don't think there's "the best 3" houses, but I think that in general, YSL, Chanel, Guerlain and Creed make some pretty good stuff. This doesn't mean everyone else suck.
So far/for now:

Amouage
Creed
YSL

But in opposite to DULLAH I have made my list with fragrances marketed towards women in mind too. Both Guerlain and Caron are on the list because of their unisex "female" fragrances.

1. Traditional scents made by Guerlain
2. ?
3. ?

Traditional scents made by Molinard, Fragonard, Galimard and Caron are almost unknown to me.

Designer's come after these.

Hard to say which are the best (I love'em all!), but my favorites are (in no particular order):

Guerlain, Givenchy, Chanel, Caron, Christian Dior, Yves St. Laurent, Creed, Hermes, Jacques Fath, Jean Patou, Oscar de la Renta.........(and so on and so forth)............

2. YSL
3. Caron

Sorry I can't do 3. There are no best IMO. But houses I respect for their consistency, vision & execution:

Dior
Creed
Chanel
Serge Lutens
YSL
Hstoires de Parfums
Sonoma Scent Studio
L'Artisan Parfumeurs
Frederic Malle

Guerlain dropped out of the list as I feel they rely too much on past glories; SDV being their last decent offering.
There are other houses but I have yet to get better acquainted with incl. Amouage, PdN, MPG, etc.

Very surprised at Bond no. 9! Their fragrances seem to copy over houses, although the longevity seems to be improved!

1) Thierry Mugler
2) Burberry
3) Escada

I think "improved" is the operative word. For example, I really tried to like GIT before I ever heard of Bond, but it just wasn't my thing. Chez bond, on the other hand, I loved immediately.
