Which of these 3 scents is higher:

- Longevity:
- Sillage:
- Overall smell:

If you had to choose 1 of these 3 it would be:

Thanks Basenoter´s

I would choose Aqua. I detest the other two.

L´Eau d´Issey

L´Eau d´Issey lasts and lasts and lasts and lasts...It smells good but you have to go easy on the application.

Am I the only one who thinks L'eau d´Issey isn't a citrus or aquatic. To me it smells like a ton of lemon mixed with Tommy Bahamas dry down. I guess it can be citrus if you're depending on the lemon accord but I just find it to be overpowering and vile. I haven't tried Aqua yet but I'd love to, Bvlgari is a very promising house. Then there's ADG, not much to say, it's the epitome of aquatics, it's what every aquatic aspires to be. So i can only really rate ADG.. that been said (using a 5 * system)
Longevity: ** to ***
Sillage: ** to ***
Overall smell: ****

Issey's the winner if you want longevity and sillage, but I'm really not all that fond of it. Aqua is my favourite out of the 3, and I still like Acqua di Gio although I'd go with Perry Ellis 360 Red since I feel it slightly improves the AdG formula at a cheaper price.

- Longevity: Issey Miyake
- Sillage: Issey Miyake
- Overall smell: Bvlgari

If I had to choose 1 of these 3 it would be: Bvlgari Aqva

totally agree, its NOT an aquatic. smells just like Lysol to me. not that is bad, but last like a muther Fucker. I made the mistake of spraying it on myself like 5 time because i thought i couldnt smell it. All i have to say is NEVER MAKE MY MISTAKE!

Longevity & Sillage - Issey
Smell - Issey and Aqua are tied in my opinion.

when i wear issey or di gio it always gets the comment oh thats issey ur wearing .. or thats di gio ur wearing :P
when i wear Aqva i get the comment. shit whats that ur wearing. u smell good.
I have worn all three about the same amount of time and got the most complemets from the ladies on Aqva

Same as - Aqua wins by default as I can't abide the other two.

L´Eau d´Issey for sileage and longevity, but Aqva is easily the nicest smelling of these 3 IMO....
I tried L'Eau d'Issey just on strip paper but couldnt smell anything more than lemon so I dismissed it. Aqua Di Gio and Aqva are both nice fragrances (ADG more on fruity floral side and Aqva with its characteristic seaweed note) with about same sillage and longetivity. I own both and pick one just depending on my mood. Where I live I smelled Aqva maybe three times and ADG once so popularity isnt issue for me.

Thanks guys! I'll be back to try on my skin L'Eau d´Issey and Bvlgari Aqua. I think the scent of L'Eau d'Issey is very original. IMO Aqva is similar to Aqua di Gio, but i will try it again.Greetings

I dont see any similiarity between this 2 except of fresh opening. They go their own and very diferent way.

I have to totally agree with Spray here on all points. I have and enjoy all 3, but Aqva is definitely my favorite. It's longevity is pretty close to Issey's too.

L'eau D'Issey is far superior in all aspects, to my nose. I really don't like Aqva, there's something quite off-putting about it...
L'eau D'Issey certainly lasts, but if I was forced to pick one, it would be Aqua di Gio, even though having tried all 3, I don't personally like any of them.
Difficult question. But I'll choose Aqva at the last minute. L'eau d'Issey can be too overpowering for the weather here.
I would go for aqua, one of my fav aquatics
post #23 of 28
Gio for me.....the other 2 are way to floral on my skin.....yuck.

After tasting both (L´Eau & Aqva Bvlgari) in my skin I prefer L'Eau d'Issey. I found a bottle of 40 ml (limited edition), well sealed and it seems recent. Has anyone seen this presentation? Thanks BN
post #26 of 28
well , for me , ADG smell a bit generic... Aqua Bvlgari hasn´t deepness at the top notes , L´eau for me is versatile and effective choice to different occasions
post #27 of 28
This is mildly off topic, but I'm not sure it warrants a whole new thread. What is the longevity, sillage, and overall smell difference between the original L'Eau d'Issey and the summer version? Judging by the reviews it's "lighter". Does that mean that it doesn't last as long or project as well? Or does that mean that the scent is just 'younger'?

Bvlgari Aqua is a gem;

AdG is overworn and overrated;

L'eau d' Issey I detest.
