Scents that cut through the hot air

Hey,

I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for scents that are so refreshing and uplifting that they seem to cut through the hot air and just give an overall refreshing vibe? The only thing I have like this at the moment is Live Jazz. The citrus and mint combo is just great to tackle the warmness, and I do absolutely love it, but sometimes it's a little too herbal and "leafy", and obviously it'd be nice to have an alternative to it. I also have Mugler Cologne and 212 Men as hot weather fragrances, but neither of these have that "cooling" property.

I suppose the main notes i'm concerned about are mint, but not too mint leafy, and like a sparkling citrus or something (not a horrible sharp acidic citrus though, can't stand that kind)

Oh wow, green tea and mint? That sounds very very intriguing, thanks for the suggestion!

I came in to tell "Live Jazz", but I see you already know it.

Unisex:
L'Occitane's Green Tea and Mint - http://www.basenotes.net/ID26125034.html *
GFF Bergamotto Marino - http://www.basenotes.net/ID26129827.html ***

For Men:
L'Occitane's Eau des 4 Voleurs - http://www.basenotes.net/ID26120528.html ***
L'Occitane's Eau des Baux - http://www.basenotes.net/ID26126827.html **

So far, these are the ones that remind me of YSL's Live Jazz (which I happened to try last Friday): asterisks mean resemblances according to MO. Please remember olfactory percpetions are very personal, so try before buying.

+1 for Bergamotto Marino and L'eau par Kenzo pour Homme.

Declaration Eau de Genereuse by Cartier has the signature orange/spice/cumin vibe of the original, underscored by a brilliant and cooling mint note. Every time I wear it, my skin is actually cool for a few minutes...so it must have real mint (or menthol) in it. I love it. Shame that it's a little difficult to find.

I also wholeheartedly agree with the Guerlain Aqua Allegoria recommendations. Both Herba Fresca (mint & grass) and Mentafollia (mint & aromatics/light florals) are perfect for what you're looking for.

It must be water, and it has to be cool.
It must be jazz, and not plain jazz, I mean the live one.
Oh, and it must be water again, but not H20, I meant Gio water.
Oh, and I also know a green water, a cologne, and that water is not sold it supermarkets.
The final thing: there must be a lot of men: 212

Jacques Fath Green Water and Brooksfield b.green are also very good.

+1 for the Fath Green Water!

I also think Barbier des Isles by Comptoir Sud Pacifique is an excellent hot weather scent.

While it doesn't last I find nothing more refreshing that Eau d'Orange Verte in the sweltering heat. I keep a re-fillable atomizer with me during the hottest days of the summer.

I am pretty taken with L'Occitane's Eau du Badian of late. It has a big grapefruit note, and the star anise acts as a sort of cooling, sharp counterpart. I have only been testing it in the afternoons, and it is still spring, but it certainly slices through the high humidity we've had here lately.

I find that Iso-E-Super heavy scents tend to have this effect, particularly Kenzo Air. It was said in a review, but it leaves the air around you with a soft, vetiver-cedar vibe to it.

For me, staying in a tropical country meant that we get the heat all year round.

Bulgari Aqua Marine and Concentre d Orange Verte dissolves the heat like.........ice cubes smothering a ciggie butt

both D'Orange Vertes', Erolfa, and MI are some of my go-to hot weather fragraces, all really have a great effect on hot air...

Honorable mention to Truefitt's West Indian Limes, and Bombay Sapphire Infusion...

But none really slice right thru it with a cooling effect, which also have a fresh, citric, vibrant smell like Creed's Selection Verte

BTW, does anyone know of a mint-citrus scent that blends the coolness of the Aqua Allegoria mentafollia/herba-fresca, with the sweet synthetic orange of the Aqua Allegoria mandarine basilic, better than Frederic Malle's OUTRAGEOUS ???

I love the pairing of Citrus and Mint, but malle's take didn't quite do it...

I want to try this so bad. They won't send me a sample.

Is there a way I could get a decant from you? I will pay for the shipping and it can be a very small one.

Do you mean Triefitt's Limes?
Truefitt has a sampler pack of their entire range for like $7. That's not much more than it would cost for me to ship 1 vial.
Also, you could take a drive over to Taste of Britain in Norcross, GA, or to Jon Pauls' Tonsorial in Alpharetta, GA. Both stock Truefitt's line. this way you can test each Truefitt properly, with a light spritz, and then with a heavy hand to reveal all it's subtle facts fully.

If you mean the Bombay, it smells EXACTLY like the gin. A safe blind buy if you like their Sapphire gin.

Dullah, where can you find the Bombay? It's almost nowhere online.

For scents that seemed to exactly what you ask that worked for me..

Chrome (refreshing cool metallic citrus)
Menthe Fraiche (green tea and cooling mint)
Nouveau Bowery (sparkling lime popsicle citrus)
Live Jazz (citrus and mint)
Paris Hilton Man (cooling cucumber and melon over cedar)
Clinque Happy (bright sparking orange citrus)
Hugo XY(aquatic mint, although I didn't care for it)
