Hi, I'm new to BN and was wondering which cologne would be best for an everyday summer style.

I've been checking out reviews and have come up with a list of possibilities:
1) Versace Eau Fraiche
2) Issey Miyake Summer
3) JPG La Male Summer
4) CK Eternity or Euphoria
5) Aqua Di Gio (seems too common though)
and 6) 212 men

thoughts?

I am also a 20 year old college student living in the dorms. I recently obtained a bottle of Kouros Body and the women on my floor love it. I even got a compliment from a guy saying "Mike smells really good" and he was behind a partially cracked door (don't ask). My female neighbors across the hall raided my cologne collection and they really liked Kenneth Cole Reaction. I would too if it had ANY longevity and sillage. Smells nice out of the bottle but you need to bathe in it...literally.

Overall I would definitely recommend Kouros Body!

I've mentioned this in a ton of threads recently asking about summer fragrances. You have to get a sample of True Religion. It's a FANTASTIC aquatic / floral fragrance that really stands out among a lot of summer fragrances as very unique. I'd sampled it for a few weeks and loved it from the first spray... my bottle should be arriving in the mail tomorrow morning.

Like I say to all you young boys, wanting to get a new frag;

Dune pour Homme de Christian Dior.

Your number 2: Issey Miyake Summer is a good pick.

Also: L'Eau Par Kenzo, Kenneth Cole Reaction (as mentioned above), or any Lacoste fragrance (mainly Pour Homme and Essential) are all good options.

Acqua di Gio smells nice, but as you said, it is too common

I actually went out and saw today that The Bay in Canada (where I live) has the new 2010 Issey Miyake l'Eau d'Issey Summer and JPG's La Male Summer 2010 editions. I was told that they are both "limited" edition and once they are sold out that's it.

Anyways, I smelled them on the spray cards (I know that its not super accurate compared to on the skin, plus you have to wait a while to get the full effect throughout the day). I ended up preferring and buying the Issey Miyake, however I may end up going back for the JPG as well.

Both of these colognes cost $68 CAD for 125mL/4.2 ounces.

P.S. I also smelled Versace's Eau Fraiche and it seemed very weak (however it's still getting warmer so that should change) and too unisex for my taste.

Yeah I would also say L'eau D'Issey or Reaction. Both young and fresh.

Bonjour and Welcome to Basenotes !

I'll go with these ( you can find them in shops as well) :

Roberto Cavalli Black
Cartier Declaration Essence
Ulrich Lang Anvers
( harder to find, but a nice rewarding smell)
Tommy Bahama
Mugler Cologne
Versace Baby Blue Jeans

...those are a few that come to mind

Good luck.

Stick around please. I like having Canadian company on Basenotes.

I'm 18 years old and I don't care about how old is a fragrance as long as I see myself wearing it.

If it suits your personality then why bother changing the frag, do you change your personality because others want to?

Of the one's you listed, I'd go with 212 or Issey. Both are great for everyday. And even though AdG is common, It's a great everyday frag too.
