Elegant but young?

Whats up people first post here.

I am looking for a nice elegant smell that i could wear during the night when i go out, or when i go on dates.

I am 21 and i find most of the elegant smells to be a little "old" for me.

I read a lot of people here like Chanel Egoiste and YSL Body Kouros.

I smelled both today and i liked them. I think Body Kouros is a little younger in smell.

What would you recommend?

This is what i own right now:

Armani Mania
Armani Attitude
Acqua De Gio
Emporio Armani He (one of my fav scents)
Emporio Armani He Remix
212 Men
Jaguar Fresh (not bad at all. i got it as a present)
Zirh Ikon (same as above)
Gucci PH1
Gucci PH2
D&G The One
Chic for Men
RL Double Black
RL Blue
RL Explorer
Chanel Platinum Egoiste
Laura Biagiotti Roma Uomo
Prada Amber pour homme
Paco Rabanne Ultraviolet Man Colours of Summer
Davidoff Cool Water
Baldessarini Del Mar

Welcome to BN, Kbar. Young AND elegant?

I would venture to add Varvatos Artisan.

From your list, use the D&G The One.

The one was one of my favorite smells until many people started using it.
I want to add a new smell preferably something that isnt very common

I found the smell of Artisan to be very similar to, well, febreeze.
My next "light" cologne will be issey miyake which i ran out of, and never got a chance to replace.

Bulgari pour Homme

Bvlgari BLV. Longevity is an issue for some, but this is what I wear to formal events (although I'm out of it now) it's a beautiful scent. It's young and elegant in my opinion, but should definitely be smelled prior to purchasing, some find it very cloying.

Acier Aluminum by Creed, Angel men,Obsession, Bond #9 new haarlem. just to give you an idea, some sort of heavy fragrance would be good.

How about Azzaro Onyx or Bvlgari Black, too? Onyx has shades of old school, elegant fougeres with a fresh attitude. Black is very urbane and would add a new, more outre element to your collection.

I think you already have at least one very elegant frag in your collection: Gucci Pour Homme 1. For some reason, it gets criticized a lot here on Basenotes. I think it's a fabulous scent, is very elegant, sophisticated and unique. It doesn't smell like every other mainstream designer scent out there.

I really like the scents Creed makes, but i cannot afford them.

Yes Gucci PH1 is a great smell. I usually wear it if i know i will enjoy a cigar at the same night. The cigar aroma mixed with PH1 is very nice together.

Ok so far here are 5 perfumes i like and have smelled (or had) before:

1. Blvgari black
2. Azzaro pour homme
3. YSL Body Kouros (i liked the regular Kouros as well)
4. Chanel Egoiste (maybe too old for me?)
5. Gucci Envy (cant find in stores?)

Yet to smell and gonna check out:

1. Blvgari BLV
2. Azzaro Onyx

I found angel men to be a little too sweet for my taste

Try Kenneth Cole: Black. I get that young classy vibe from it.

"Elegant but young?"

Are you talking about me, again?

OK, jokes aside, I think Dior Homme may be worth a sniff. And I will +1 L'aventurier's Bvlgari Pour Homme.

Body Kouros ... interesting, intriguing, passionate, sensual, young.
21 years is the perfect age for this fragrance.

Based on your wardrobe, you seem to like Armani fragrances, Kbar. Have you tried Armani Code? I definitely get the "modern elegance for evening wear" vibe from it.

To be honest, I didn't think Bulgari pour Homme was that elegant, although presumably that was just it reacting with my skin, given the amount of love it gets here.

I would have thought either of the Gucci pH's would have been elegant enough for dates.
Maybe you could diversify your Polo collection? Double black and modern reserve are both classy, although the Modern Reserve might be a little old for your tastes.
Burberry London is a great cold-weather scent, too. One of my personal favourites. It's not too old-man like, but still evokes that old world charm, in my mind.

(This is from a 24 year-old, but who is a fan of scents which aren't too young and fresh - so perhaps the exact opposite of what you want)

Let me just throw the idea of Caron's L'Anarchiste out there.

D&G Pour Homme
Hermes Terre d'Hermes

Hermes Bel Ami

Rive Gauche pour Homme- although a mature and elegant frag, it still does not smell "old-fashioned", being also very popular with young wearers and also quite complimented

may i chime in for another suggestion..
YSL la nuit de l'homme
pretty good for causal night out and dates without being too mature

I find Diesel Fuel for Life extremely young, but elegant
+1 for La Nuit De L'Homme (2009), by Yves Saint Laurent
If you don't like sweet scents, XS pour Homme (1993), by Paco Rabanne. Kind of a dry La Nuit De L'Homme, IMHO.
Allure Homme (1999), by Chanel

bvlgari pour homme
gucci pour homme II
Armani he

CK Eternity too, although it diminishes on the skin quickly for many.

My recommendation would be Parfums d'Nicolai New York or Patchouli Homme. So affordable for the quality and simply magnificent frags!

ok thanks for the help. i am going to buy one or two tomorrow from what you guys advised me to.

i was also wondering what would be a good edt to wear when i go clubbing.
burberry london, rive gauche and even body kouros or kouros sport, most sport frags off the mature fragrances before them are good ideas.
For clubbing I would say Givenchy: Pi or Chanel: Allure Pour Homme Sport.

acqua di parma colonia/assoluta is ageless.
