What are some really luxurious scented soaps?

With Summer rolling up on us pretty quickly, I've been wanting to break away from my standard soap and really indulge in something luscious and luxurious with perhaps a touch of the tropics. Something that would leave you feeling pampered and almost as if you had just had a massage. Not too flowery per se, but kind of jungle-ey, that once you get into a hot tub with it, you never want to get out. And an after bath oil recommendation along the same lines would be great too!

Not really jungly per se, but very spring-summer type of scent is L'Occitane's Verbena soap - an awesome combination of verbena, citrus and ginger, great stuff, albeit not cheap. It has shea butter so it's extremely mild on the skin and moisturizes well.

Roger Gallet soaps are very fine. Start with Extra Vielle. I am very, very fond of the lavender, too. Get the classic bar soaps, not the liquids.

virgin island water soap by creed

Well, it's kind of rosey so I guess that rules it out, but C&S No. 88 makes a pricey soap that might be the best I've ever used.

In the fresh, summery soapy clean arena, I'd go with Gendarmes bar soap. Teriffic on a hot day.

Try this: http://www.amazon.com/Jean-Marie-Far...210030&sr=1-27

Nice gift set that includes the amazing cologne, too. There are also several soap-only options on amazon. All highly recommended.

Prada Infusion d'Iris soap is da' bomb. It is, according to the press release, what the smell of Infusion d'Homme (the masculine by Prada) was based loosely upon: the smell of a man, exiting the shower, just having washed with Infusion d'Iris soap.

There is also a quite wonderfully scented soap by Claus Porto, called Lysia, that smells like a soapy Apres L'Ondee. Magical stuff.

Ah, the perfumed bath. What would our favourite scented nobleman say on this subject?

For me, if you can find it, the Richard James soap-on-a-rope is an experience. This marvelously replicates the RJ EDT.

Then again, you can just use jasmine extrait in the bathwater...

Mugler Cologne soap. It's the archetypical, holiday, summer soap smell.

If you can obtain any of the Dior scents in their lovely single-bar presentations, jump on the opportunity. Fahrenheit in soap was incredible - had a grassy, meadow-y quality that transformed my shower in the morning. Dolce Vita in soap was a revelation too - it perfumed my whole bathroom, even when it was just sitting there in the soap dish.

I think the ultimate in bar soaps are made by Rance. They are indeed expensive, but as with all things in life you get what you pay for.

Santa Maria Novella almond soap is unbelievable!!! The most luxurious almond fragrance ever, and it's not sickly or cloying in the least!! Just totally sublime!!
