Today, a new one! Poppies, from First Impressions. I love how poppies frustrate pefumers with their lack of smell! This one interprets them as a dark deco chypre, with honey and apples.

A mixture of Lagerfeld Classic and Obsession for Women.
Very strange, bizarre and vulgar. Not a succes..!
I wore Sonoma Scent Studio Vintage Rose today. I fear that my 5ml purse spray will not last too long as I can see this becoming a favourite through winter! I applied at 7am and by 2pm in the afternoon I could still smell it on my skin - lovely.

Balmain's Jolie Madame today. Love the leather and violets and love this vintage ad.

"Long after other perfumes have left the party, 'Jolie Madame' is still going strong."

Hey, hey, hey, big welcome and a hug from me to you, Nola1977!

Something changed with nose/brain/juice/skin so that I’m re-attracted to Borsari Macchia Mediterranea. Is there fennel in there? I hate fennel. Why do I want to wear this? Just stop thinking and enjoy—right?!

Continuing my fun with Ineke, today I am wearing Evening Edged in Gold. I don't think it can be possible to go wrong with plum and leather! This may be a full bottle for me!

Mary Chess White Lilac, acquired from Mom, who seems to have stopped wearing scent since Dad became sensitive to it a few years back. She wore this while I was growing up, so it is evocative for me.

L'Ombre Fauve by Parfumerie Generale (from a sample - thanks Asha)

Today wearing it for the 2nd time, I smell rosemary. Animalic rosemary. Wow, how subversive.
Van Cleef & Arpels Murmure again for me.

Hmmmm Versace The Dreamer. I bought that for my BF and it was a totally new style for him. He's the fresh/aquatic guy...

Mike, your SOTD sounds really really interesting.

I've got a sample of L'ombre in the post...Really looking forward to trying it.

At the moment I'm wearing Bandit for the first time...I see what all the fuss is about.

I'm working from home today, so some testing going on. Diorissimo EDT and Donna Karan Gold on each arm. I planned to do it to compare lilies in there.

Nola1977, hi, this is my fist post as well! Let's have fun with this thread, I plan to stick to it!

Therese, Evening Egded in Gold is the only one I haven't tried from Ineke's lovely sample set!

Like Antaeusintheair, I'm in Balmain's Jolie Madame today. Just received this yesterday (blind buy) and wow, LOOOVE it! So green and fresh, and as Antaeusintheair pointed out, violets and leather! If this were repackaged with an upscale bottle and was called, oh, "Unicorn Song," or something similarly evocative, it would cost $150 instead of $16.

EDIT: (forgot to welcome newcomers!) Nola1977 and Warum, welcome!!

Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Pour Homme.

I'm scent twins with chapter10 today ... I'm also wearing Bandit. It's a day full of errands, taking the dog to the vet for her shots, dealing with the insurance company over my meds, laundry, etc, etc ... at least I'm not at work!

Good morning everyone !

Fracas EDP and a touch of the extrait for me today.
Hi everyone!

I'm still on vacation, lazily wasting away the morning in Ineke's house with Therese - I'm in Chemical Bonding. Now that's one big and bodacious peOny, as my mother would say.

I almost missed y'all - Welcome Nola1977 and Warum!! Definitely stick around - you'll love it here!
What good smells, all !

Jolie Madame last night, Penhaligon's Amaranthine today, courtesy of SMM and Com Diva's generosity ;-)

Evangeline, while back in Texas, I would say "Pe-O-ny" too, as rhyming with "Sony" and "pony". Here in the mid-north, everybody says "PE-a-ny", and I am going with the crowd. I spoke with Ms.Tao on the phone and she is with mid-north pronouncing it.

With so much conversation about LB Roma in the recent days, I put it on -- wonderful! Why do not I even have it marked as "Own" in my Wardrobe? Am I going to get rid of it any time soon? -- somewhere inbetween Shalimar and Dune, delicate and victorious.

Welcome to our new people -- nola and Warum. You are going to like it here and in no time will you be asking "Warum have not I joined any earlier?"

Serge Lutens Douce Amere

What a shame it's being discontinued. So warm and cool at the same time. Love it!!!!

Oops, thought I was putting this in Male Frag Discussion. Sorry gals. Nevertheless a great unisex anyway.

Now I feel like I simply must try Jolie Madame...sounds like my cup of tea.

Yeah - I asked her about it and was mildly surprised. I think I've been imagining her accent with a bit more moonlight and magnolias than is akshully the case!

Very nice! I love how you make Roma sound...except for the part about the Shalimar, haha! Still, this almost sounds like a version of Shalimar that I might like.

Thanks, that's funny

My Donna Karan lily had wilted (and is not very noticeable), but the lilies of the valley of Diorissimo are fresh and beautiful!
