Thanks for starting this, Man_From_Shalimar (how's things in Shalimar?). I've always meant to do this myself and I've wondered why there wasn't already a sticky or a sub-forum for it.

Anyway, here's my first one:

ALHAMBRA

Bitter Orange 10
Bergamot 3
Petitgrain 2
Tangerine 2
Neroli 12
Jamarosa 4
Michelia Alba Leaf 4
Jasmin Sambac abs 4
Ylang Ylang (First-Comoros) 2
Pemou (Siam Wood) 8
Cedar Himalayan 8
Cedar Atlas 8

Notes: Raw beginner here. I recently discovered Pemou or Siam Wood EO from Hermitage Oils (you're The Man, Adam!) and fell instantly in love. I was struck by its strong similarity to Neroli and couldn't wait to use it in a blend as the basenote for a Neroli fragrance. My first attempt overdid the Pemou. This is the second attempt which I only blended last night and already (24 hours later) it is showing promise. I used a mixture of both Himalayan and Atlas Cedar, but you could use just one or the other. Don't use Virginian! you'll get something altogether different which I couldn't imagine working very well, what with that 'pencil shaving' note.
The Michelia Alba Leaf has a softening effect, which I like, but it could be omitted if you don't have any.
The Jamarosa is another new discovery. I'm finding it useful to boost citruses and impart a "tanginess".
I would love to start playing around with synthetics: I think this could benefit from something to give it a 'sparkle' but I have no idea what that could be! Any suggestions (I'm looking at you, Chris Bartlett!)

I would try more bergamot for added "sparkle".

For adding "sparkles" to the composition, i would suggest to experiment with the following components (one at a time!), in 1% dilution for starters, they tend to have strong effects!:

- The Aldehydes, preferably C10, C12 NMA and C12 Laurel
- Ambrocenide (also a good fixative for your citrus notes)
- Cosmone (excellent volume lifter, although it will introduce some Musk to the composition)
- Civet can do wonders, especially in combination with the flowers
- Ultrazur, can definitely bring some lift, volume and diffusitivity
- Okoumal will bring a twinkle to the cedar

Enjoy the experiment!
