Is it just Me, or does Polo Blue smell like.......

.......... Sécrétions Magnifiques?

I came across a water damaged gift set of Polo Blue going very cheaply today (they'd removed the cover and put the contents inside the big toiletry bag).
I hadn't tested it since it first came out, when I remember not liking it much at all.

Since I'd forgotten what it smelled like, I sprayed some on my hand and was quite surprised.
To my nose, it reminded me strongly of Sécrétions Magnifiques, though nowhere near as strong and offensive.
Is Sécrétions Magnifiques is an extreme version of Polo Blue?

Or have I got it totally wrong?
Regards,
Renato

I remember Polo Blue smelling like a very fresh, cucumber / 'body-wash' fragrance with a strange metallic basenote that lasted on me forever. I haven't had the displeasure of smelling Secretions Magnifiques but from the reviews and past mentions on the board I couldn't imagine them to be all that similar? As I don't find anything offensive about Polo Blue. Plus I've never had anything generate more compliments / interest from the fairer sex than Polo Blue... I don't think many could say the same of Secretions Magnifique

Hi Anthony,
Yes, I do remember most people being quite positive towards Polo Blu when it first came out, and it has excellent longevity. But I think it's that strange metallic body note that gets amplified twenty fold in Secretions which is putting me off. Don't forget, while most people found Secretions vile, some found it perfectly okay.
I think you should really make your way to a David Jones/ Mecca cosmetics counter and spray some Secretions on your wrist - it could be one of those moments in your life that you always remember.

I have never had the pleasure (or displeasure if I may) to test Secretions Magnifique. However from what the reviews are for this apparently vile juice, It'd be hard to imagine that it could be in the same vein as Polo Blue. I don't find Polo Blue to be spectacular or anything but it's not bad either.

I didn't realize that you could find SM in the stores here. I'd keep it in mind and spray some on a card. I won't dare to put this on my skin.

No, no!
You have to try it on your skin to really get the full experience.
Just make sure you carry a bar of Solvol in your pocket (or can of Ajax) in case you have the same reaction as me.
Who knows, you may be in the tiny minority that actually likes it.

Another example of the deprived West.

Makes no sense, you guys are supposed to be the rich part of the country - and the retailers don't seem to be catering to you much at all.

Sounds like your Polo Blue has turned.

The very low price and the water damage kind of confirm this , in my opinion.

No, the Polo Blue I tested came from the tester on the shelf.
