Elegant, subtle, and refined,
For an introspective frame of mind.
Close to the skin, it lingers on,
I'll re-apply before it's gone.
I wish that it would longer stay,
But "Less is More,"...
Bentley for Men Intense opens with the faintest brief spray of dulled citrus mingling with a sheen of black pepper, before quickly adding laurel and cinnamon spiced smooth boozy rum-laced incense...
Skimming through the reviews of Habit Rouge it's apparent that this scent comes/came in many incarnations, wastly different. I've tried a current EdT. .. There's nothing masculine about this...
I dislike the original AdG, always have because of the bitterness and strange orange synthetic note. The Essenza after one wear won me over, smooth opening, soft woodiness once it settles down....
Disturbingly bad.
This opens up obscure, smoky, spicy and what seems like an attempt of a jasmine flower note. I have smelt jasmine notes from higher end perfumery and this is utterly...
Good Morning everyone Have all a Fantastic Weekend
Parfums
D' ORSAY

Head Notes lavender, neroli, petit grain and bergamot Heart Notes coriander, jasmine, cloves, sage and ylang-ylang Base Notes amber, oakmoss and cedar.
Good morning Roberto ( and the rest of you when you wake up) Today I was suppose to get up early, but couldn't...So typical me sleeping a couple of extra hours if I can:P After breakfast I'm off to university to write the rest of the Law assignmnet. Can't wait to have it over with! Sotd is Mitsouko. I could wear this beauty everyday!
HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY to PETRA ICHOR!!!! I'm sorry to have missed it yesterday. Hope you had a nice day!
It's gotten so I sometimes pick my frag of the day from my PBucket album instead of the etagere!! This looked perfect for a promising-to-be-warmer day....
Have I impressed upon you how much I love shoveling? No joke. I remember when I bought my favorite shovel, and it has shrunk from its original length due to my whittling it against the Earth. So, be happy for me, because today I am going outside to move soil and stone whilst wearing Sel de Vetiver and Black Vetyver Cafe.
May you find your own shovel of happiness ~ Love, Quarry.
My SOTD is Guy Laroche Horizon - spending the day in Bodega Bay today.
Top notes are aldehydes, artemisia, lavender, green notes, mandarin orange, cassia, mint and bergamot
Middle notes are cyclamen, carnation, jasmine, caraway, rose, pine tree needles and geranium
Base notes are leather, sandalwood, amber, patchouli, musk, oakmoss and cedar
Soir~ Rumba is a great "back off" scent. I wanted to back away from myself when I tested it!
I see Quarry and Taolady in vetiver today. Very wise and savvy women, these two, so I'm going to twin up with Tao in L'Occitane Vetyver and emulate Quarry with some good yard work. Well, yard work will commence as soon as I get back from having some fasting labwork done (standard glucose test for preggy girls) and a nice big meal!
Also, I hope some of you will see this-- L'Occitane is having a 50% off sale on selected products until 3:30 est time today. Unfortunately, I just checked my email a few minutes ago, but then it arrived only 90 minutes ago (15 mins after the sale started) and it looks like Basenotes is a big buggy. If I get any more of these quick notices, I'll be sure to pass them along.
Good afternoon everybody! I had a quite morning today in contrast of hectic yesterday.
Tried Ineke Chemical Bonding today since it was going around in this thread a last couple of days and I haven't tried it from my gorgeous Ineke's sample set yet.
I agree with Hillaire's impressions from yesterday, it was a blast of lemon first, greenish lemon at that, but alas, with a slight chemical note that I didn't like. It does have nice peony smell (my North GA husband says PEAony! ), but it doesn't do anything to me that Lanvin's Eclat d'Arpege does, both with lemon and peony. In fact, I like both these notes better in L'Eclat.
I have enough for one more wear, but it's not going to be a full bottle from Ineke. I think I'll get her lilac one, After my Own Heart unless I fall in love with Evening Edged in Gold -- that's the last to try!
ValentinePerfume describes Ma Griffe thusly -- (I only wish I were half so eloquent:) Time lots elegance - there are things, to which the time cannot wear anything. In addition the smell classical author of grasps from that belongs Paris mode houses Carven. From the time of its spectacular launching the blumig aromatic smell stands on for exclusivity and struck Couture elegance. Gardenia, Limone, rose, Ylang Ylang, Styrax, Zimt and Eichenmoos underline the fascinating aura of a woman, who takes herself from the life, which wants it and which can afford the luxury of their singularness.
(you can't make this stuff up... :-)
The tart sourness mixed with the peat/whiskey notes almost smells like an aldehyde, but a natural aldehyde...if that makes sense. I keep getting these strange whiffs all day. Not sure I like it as much as the Eau d'Italie signature scent (or Dzonghka by L' Artisan Parfumeur, it's twin brother), but I do like it infinitely more than when I first sampled it and wrinkled up my nose at it.
L'Artisan Fleur d'Oranger to give me some energy while I pack for our next trip to Florida tomorrow.
This time, flying down and driving back to CT towing a UHaul behind Mom's car. It is going to be a frantic week of packing things up and cleaning out all that won't be sold in the estate sale, then signing a rental agreement with a broker. Followed by the loooong drive home.
And one hour per day has to be for the beach. I hope there won't be riptides-- unsafe water conditions are common, with flags posted to warn people to stay out of the water. This is my daughter's spring break week, so I do hope she can get wet at least once.
I'll log onto BN form there a few times if time allows.
Felt like wearing flowers today, so Creed Fleurissimo. Man, this stuff has legs! I usually need a lunchtime fragrance reapplication, but this one's still going... Nothing wrong with that, though; it's lovely.
I wore Chanel CdR this morning, and am wearing AL Madame X tonight. I far prefer the CdR, though the Madame X definitely has presence! I hope everyone had a great day. Take care, all.
