Nice beginner collection. Just get some spicy oriental/gourmand (Body Kouros/A*Men/Rochas Man) for winter and you are set

Beginner or just someone who has been able to resist all the temptations (and addictions) BN and niche offer

And don't Mania and Dior Homme sufficiently fullfill the winter purpose?

That's Armani Code behind Dior Homme. But it's almost empty

LGD, looks like you need a bigger pedestal! LOL

Here's my messy cabinet, with the possible swappers/sellers at the top. (my digital camera is quite confused by all the shinedyness going on there too!)

Hmm... I am noticing quite a few FEMME scents creeping in around the edges... what's up with that?

edelzwicker, very solid collection you got there!

Here is my small collection:

CK One - just my mother uses it now. Fresh but too synthetic floral sweet. I think its more on feminine side of unisex.
Aqva - my first designer fragrance. Bigger bottle is almost full. I dont like it that much anymore and I feel good with it only when its rainy weather.
ADG - safe sweet freshness when I want smell OK. I cant wait till its gone so I can buy something different haha.
Black Suede Touch - yummy peppery vanilla. I often use it when I go to bed. It would be good if I dont have other better orientals.
Code - I like it more than ADG. Can see it easy being daily unoffensive office scent but I dont think its that exceptional for evening wear.
Body Kouros - sex in the bottle. I use this when I want to feel super sexy. You cant be unoticed with this one. For evening use and intimate occasions.
Dior Homme - nice, original, cold and also sweet. Fragrance for special formal occasions. I use it just barely because I would feel underdressed with most of my outfit.
Rochas Man - Yummy daily/evening gourmand. This can be easy someones signture. I think it will have hard times when I get full bottle of Pure Malt.
Gucci PH II - My current most worn fragrance. Exceptional for spring weather and office use.
Givenchy Pi - My winter office fragrance. Unoffending, relaxing with great longetivity.

Thanx, I try to keep it streamlined. I just added Silver Mountain Water to the portfolio.

Hehe, you are right. I didnt mean beginner as noobish but rather as a nice start or decent core. Its nothing bad about picking just few good fragrances and keep wardrobe small.

Ooh, nice to see some girlyfrags! I too had that moment of disbelief in the eyes of my partner as bottles kept being dug out of their hideyholes. And I missed stuff :/

these are amazing! I could only hope to be on par with most of these collections!
Just for fun I thought I'd post a pic. At this point I'm still in the "sample everything, then get decants" phase. About 5 more bottles are on the way and pretty much every day I sample at least something then chuck it in my basket to send to a swap box.

Finally got around to dragging out the collection. This is, of course, an ongoing project...

Well Ive arrived back in Australia and have been reunited with the miniature perfume collection my mum, wife and I have amassed over the years. I am yet to add all the minis I have collected whilst living in Denmark the past 4 years, but here is a rushed series of quick snaps inside the vitrines...

Ooh, Dimitri! DROOLS!!!

The three recessed wall shelves have vintage extraits I've collected from E-bay and other places fairly recently.

The other two shelf sections in a cabinet have my prized vintage colognes, lotions, etc.

The first and last jpgs are details of the wall shelf.

Thanks CX,
This set was a special edition I bought in a perfumery in Belgrade. I believe that they are fashioned on stunning Lalique glass full-sized flacons with the same colours.

Anyone else notice they are sorted by colours? *yeah I was a little slow*
post #157 of 335
Sorcery of Scent, does anyone wear those, or were they collected purely for visual beauty? That is a simply AMAZING array!

Awesome collection. Love how you sorted them by color. Whats the one that looks like a cat?

Thalia, these were collected mainly for aesthetics (all the individual boxes have been painstakingly collapsed and stored in a huge plastic container in our shed). I HAVE been known to sneak a dab on rare occasion though... particularly from those I know to have changed thanks to reformulations, or those that are no longer in production. There are approximately 650 in total.

Yes, I was a little OCD that day... obviously with too many hours to spare, so I sorted them by colour.
The cat one is a vintage (1950s) Max Factor Sophisti-cat presentation that I found about 8 years ago in a junk store here in Perth for a couple of dollars.

Dr. Creed, what a collection! That's amazing!

Dimitri! 0_0

I'm so glad this thread is still going... so amazing! I need to take new photos of my collection, but I don't want to until I get my paws on Promesse de l'aube, which I've been lusting after for some time now.

P.S. All of you with amazing perfume collections, some cool stories to tell about your perfume passion, please see here and I'll explain more in a PM: http://www.basenotes.net/threads/254452-I-want-you!

Madiguru,
That is a beautiful collection you have. How do you find the time to wear them all?

Sourcery of Scent,
That collection is just amazing. I guess to me is just a thing of beauty, that needs to be admired for what it is, a masterpiece.
Let me see if I can do this. I am going to try to upload a pic of my small collection. Mind you, I just started three months ago and I may stop for a little while. I just let it get out of hand.

3 Months and about 80 frags. That's about 1 fragrance / day. Just wow.
Looking at Madiguru's collection....wow....just wow.....it is wonderful to have all those samples to test and think about and just experience. Samples rock.

I amy be putting MPG Centaur, SL Arabie, Kouros,Michael Kors, Guerlain Vetiver,Boucheron (maybe) and a few others. I am gong to see when I can do that.

I am actually done buying for a little while. I am thinking about a little sale and get rid of some of those that I don't forsee myself wearing much and replacing them with some in my wishlist.
I do agree with you. Dr Creed and jrd4t have beautiful collections. I just love how jrd4t has his displayed. I cannot imagine how much money his has in his collection and I don't think I'll ever get there. As it is, I let my wants get the better of me, but I am doing a better job now.

Cello, nice collection! And very nice arrangement....
Where do you guys get the money for these?!

Very nice Neurosis, I see you're a frequent Pac Sun shopper too. I thought I was the only person on BN who owned Vurt Red.
