Now, I have never heard of Aventus and why the secrecy? I just happen to like all those three you mentioned. If only VIW lasted longer on my skin, I would have gotten it already. As it is, I am getting SMW and Bond No9 Montauk soon.

Does anyone want to get on that Le labo Rose 31 split? We need one more person and it's a go.

Hey Candy boy, nice collection!!!!
My small, but slowly growing, collection (minus the vintage Opium EdT I snagged on eBay that's on its way):

Yep, I loves me some spice, florals, and musk. No niches yet, but the LuckyScent sample page beckons louder by the day...
Nice collection Subhuman! Especially love the Obsessions.
I'm Obsessed, all right: I have a third mini in my messenger bag.
I know my mini collection was posted just a page or two ago, but after my colossal move across the earth, Ive only a modest collection of full bottles to show.
Apologies for the poor photography... these are kept on a shelf inside a pitch black cupboard, and I am using a 7 year old digital camera!

Top shelf: my Guerlains
Bottom shelf: my others

Dimitri- welcome back home to Basenotes ! The photography looks just fine . I love love love your collection. I want to touch your top shelf there !!!!!!
One of my faves apart from the Guerlains there is your Prince Matchabelli perfume pendant hidden way back on your right lower shelf corner. I remember you did a fab post on your blog about it and a great photo .
Thanks Mimi! Its great to be back!!
Yes you have a great memory! The green "Wind Song" crown bottle that normally accompanies the pendant is sitting on a shelf here behind my desk along with a number of other vintage empty perfume bottles and boxes on display.

You can touch my top shelf anytime you want girl!
And note the Youth Dew extrait on the bottom shelf... it has found an exceptionally good home.
Oh yes ! I was so focused on the Prince Matchabelli ! *LOL* Really that collection must bring you pleasure every day .

New minimalist collection. The Creed MI is pretty weak, may return it. But for now I'm happy with what I have.

For a couple of months I didn't like the look of my collection, so I spent some time making some changes and feel ready to post them in this thread. I've been a little excessive even for my own standard, but I definitely think I still have a long long way to go before I get my "dream wardrobe". I'm working towards it. As for now,

Top right are the non-aoud Montales, the Aoud ones are in the black cooler in first pic.

Stuff that I couldn't squeeze into my coolers, damn it. Go ahead, laugh at the pink bottle at the extreme left.

ADP back ups, I love excess. And TDC refills/back-ups whatever you call them

Sold off most of my vintage, now I'm left with these that I feel are worth keeping. Don't wear them much though, for reference purposes.

Sold off most of my designers and I'm left with these. I haven't been trying new designers much of late, so I may have missed some of the latest and greatest. I just grew a little weary of sampling designers for a while. Might do so again soon.

Can you tell that I am really missing my Yohji Homme(s)???? I swear I got over enthusiastic selling my back-ups for a small profit. Should have kept half of them.

Other than a few Champs Elysees parfum I got a few days ago, the Borneo 1834 back up I bought today, a spare Amen flask I got last week because I couldn't resist being a cheap hoard, some decants, minis, samples, oh and a Prada Vetiver that I may consider gifting away, everything should be in the pictures above.

Other than arranging them to aesthetically look good to me, I don't really bother with arranging them by season, type, sex (oh wait, this is BN).

Matt your collection is just awesome , Im seriously jealous just of your top chiller alone !

Hey Matt! That's phenomenal!
Nice, Matt - and not so scary when you organise them like that.

The small TDC Aluminium Travel things are great, aren't they? I bought a few when Lane Crawford ditched the line - everything at 50%. Just decant a few of the original bottles and voila, short hauls I can take two or three bomb proof containers of whatever I feel like.
It's always nice to see a well organize and of course impressive collection. Have not see the bell-jar in person yet, it does look quite nice when comparing to the original SL one
Thanks for posting the pics Matt! Really nice

P, Thanks for the kind words, I'm jealous of your Amouage. Once Imma use up the decants you sent, I fear being dragged into FBs. (can't decide if that's a good or bad thing).

Yes, I cannot imagine if all my bottles came in different shapes. I think I might cry.

Those TDC travel cans are fantastic. They look and feel slick and solid, and they're so light! Now the "Long Trip" ones in the middle, those fat cans, they're just as slick and solid, but they're really really heavy (I'd say heavier than Gucci PHII), and they hold 50ml refills. I'm not sure they're ideal if you want to travel light, but they sure can survive a bomb blast.

Thank you so much for the compliments, it makes me feel good about spending a lot of time, patience, energy and of course money on this hobby(?).

Re SL: I kind of prefer spraying, and I actually like how the spray bottles are slim and easy to stack against one another, they save me a lot of space. Though I always have to be careful reaching to pick one out, they're like Dominos, I've knocked them over many times, and they've caused me a coronary many times. The bell jar looks really nice in person as well, and I would love to get more. They're rather inaccessible to me, but nothing forking out extra cash won't solve. Which is a good thing coz it makes me think twice when I have to pay a sourcing fee. Also, I'd like them to sit along with the other Lutens and I don't think my cooler will accommodate any more, esp. when I still have some export lutens on my wishlist. I'm trying not to have to relocate them. Too time consuming.

Thanks for the very kind words everyone. Makes this obsession so much more fulfilling to me.

You people are incredible and this thread sure is.
I dont even know where to start,

Jrd4t, Matt, Dr.Creed, Moreda, Dimiand our Duc, thats explicit fragrance porn and a true delight to look at.

I know there lots of others out there with amazing collections, hednic, JaimeB etc.
But it's not only about the size, such nice displays we have, larimar and the likes.

Please continue sharing people, I'l chime in tomorrow if I manage
post #278 of 335
Great pics of your shrines, people! Glad to see you guys are well stocked up for a nuclear holocaust and into the next century. I fear my missus thinks my fragrance hobby is bordering on obsession, so no perfume shrines for me. Unless I build a secret shrine somewhere. Any ideas where/how to build one? Lol.
Have you got an office?
otherwise how about a shrine/bunker combo in case of that nuclear holocaust
post #280 of 335
Some people here are pretty much fucked up lol
post #281 of 335
My current wardrobe is a pussycat compared to some here...
Love the collection pics Duc!! Those Diors and Chanels (and the rest of them) look soooo inviting!
Matt, know what you mean...happened here all the time especially those thin shape bottles. now i stash the frags into a plastic box and put them inside a drawer ..you know those that can be found at dollar shop for only couple bucks. it's cheap and quite efficient i find.

Thanks for the kind words. Here some re-arrangements, now up to date:

Well, I guess this time is as good as any...
Dr Creed, enviable!

The niche is gradually growing but I can't seem to part with my designers...Which, in most cases is nothing I want to anyway but I even have some twisted feelings even about those blind buys that turned out a failure.
As you can see I quite the sucker for wood. The shiny boxes are from Marroco this year and the big one up front as well as the one top left and the two beside that one contain some 150ish niche samples, whereas the two small one at the front right hand side contain amber and sandalwood (material not frags).

Forgot to mention, this picture is missing another cool water and cuba (the le male version, dunno which colour it was) which are currently at my GFs place, if not already annexed.
Looking VERY stylish to me, timaru!!! *Bigthumbsup* Love the wooden boxes and the desk.

Ah now I can view it, strange, maybe photobucket was having issues. That's a lovely collection, what are the two middle eastern vials that you have up there?
Thanks, that with the blue top is a jasmine oil, lovely stuff. The other one gives me a hard time, supposedly its a "pure Amber" but it's so dark, dense and strong it rather reminds me of Aoud Cuir d'Arabie. I have two more of the kind, albeit diluted (middle row, far right) , one of which an Amber/Aoud combo that smells like a pure soft amber so i guess the SA mixed it up and the oil actually is Amber/Aoud.

I'm looking to get some more oils, they're great

More girly frags! These photos are the results of me playing with my camera rather than serious attempts at comprehensive pictures of my small collection, obviously, but I kind of like them. Some day I'll try for comprehensive ones, too.
