please help me find my signature!

Hi, I'm really getting into fragrances, and really want to find MINE!
Things I LOVE:
1. very strong (subtle is not in my vocabulary). I like for it to last a long time and emanate from me.
2. oriental/spicy
3. maybe woodsy
4. Chanel Antaeus (this is ALMOST my signature, but not quite.....)
5. Burberry Brit
6. Tom Ford Black Orchid (I know this is technically for women, but as I understand it, a lot of men wear it, too.)
7. the high end designer people.
8. When I read about YSL M7, it sounds like me, but I can't find it anywhere, and it would be an expensive risk to order it from fragrancenet.net

Things I don't like:
1. Sweet
2. fruity
3. citrusy

Any ideas? Thanks!

I understand, but i'm funny like that. Right now, my sig is Antaeus, and when I go to put something else on, I feel like I'm borrowing someone else's underwear. LOL

Can't find this from Dior...do you mean Encre Noir by Lalique?
Comme des Garcons EdP ( the original ) - spicy, woody, medicinal, super-strong, and definitely high-end. This one should be made for you!

Black Orchid is marketed as a unisex, according to what I have heard, though some sellers place it in the women's section for some reason.

I regard Black Orchid as a true unisex.

Read what this article says about Black Orchid: http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandsty...me-ingredients

You might want to try Chergui by Serge Lutens and L'Air du desert marocain by Andy Tauer. Both are revered as some of, if not the best of the best when it comes to strong orientals.

You can order samples from www.theperfumedcourt.com (along with M7 too).

Yes, Lalique. My mistake.

Yes, we do! But then again, I wear alot of female frags,
and not just the Black Orchid!

You need to check out;

Égoïste, Chanel

Try Parfum D'Habit by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier. It's bold, spicy, and woody.

Have you sampled Black Aoud? It sounds right up your alley.
Why two completely identical threads?!

If possible, you should try Montale Greyland. It is woody, manly, deep, rich, mature, strong, and longlasting.

M7 is a great choice, but I don't think you're gonna love TF Black Orchid. I find this Orchid too feminin for men.

hmm
Try Maxims Pour Homme
may just fit you right

I would suggest trying Mazzolari Lui.
Nasomatto Duro. This is a stong Oud based frag.

M7.

solo loewe!!! i think u'll love it!
Any almost anything by Loewe, especially Esencia (para Hombre would probably contain too much citrus)

maybe, you should also test
Van Cleef & Arpels PH
Burberry London
Santos de Cartier
Zino Davidoff
Jaipur by Boucheron
Tuscany by Aramis

What a suggestion this is! Mazzolari Lui is powerfully elegant, and in my opinion, as good as it gets.

If you haven't tried Kouros yet, it might be very much worth a shot. With all its stupefying power, it might just be what you're looking for!

Thanks, Guys! Keep the suggestions coming if you have any more. I have put MANY of these on my wishlist at theperfumedcourt. You taught me about that site, too!

One more word: Aramis
This one is not high-end, but very strong, slightly spicy, at times resinous and medicinal, definitely woodsy, and has 24-hour longevity on my skin:

Kiehl's Pour Homme Essence Oil

I don't know about a "signature" scent. I think many of us in here have a favorite, or most likely a cluster of favorites we develop over time.

If you really like Antaeus, I might suggest Van Clef and Arpels Pour Homme. It's fairly similar to Antaeus but distinct from it. It's an 80s powerhouse that has stayed around, but it's not so popular you'll run into anyone else wearing it.
