Good morning Looking outside is rather depressing! We even have to shovel snow today!Today is one of those kind of busy days.Have quite a bit of editing to do on my Law assignment and am meeting some co-workers at a Cafe later. Sotd is a littlebit neglected scent, Nu edp. I try not to wear it so often since it's discontinued. Have a great day everyone.

WHAT a good idea!

Was about to winge about how it's not gonna make it to 70 F today - then I read Inees' post.

:P It's ok...Living in Northern norway is like this. We basically have two seasons. 6 months with winther, a few days with spring/ snowmelting and then it's suddenly summer.Ok,not 2 seasons, but it feels like it sometimes...

About to get my 1950's housewife on and bake a cake! Not a Lemon Meringue Pie, sadly, but I am wearing Crazylibellule And The Pixies Lemon Pie, which is unashamedly gourmand - sweet and lemony and pie-ey.

Notes: lemon, almond, vanilla, orange, heliotrope, caramel, neroli

Keep you chin up, Ineespenes! Sending you a ((hug)).

Eau de Merveilles does sound rather wonderful. I'm putting it right now on my "to sample" list along with assorted other things I've never gotten to.

It's chilly here this morning, but sunny (not Norway chilly, but chilly for Virginia). I'm wearing a sprtiz of Aqua Allegoria Figue-Iris, but I think it's better in hot weather.

Smile! It's Wednesday!

Adding: Eva Pasco, that was the poet whose name I was trying so hard to remember while lying in bed this morning. I kept thinking to myself, "the one from Amherst, what's her name?" I was looking outside and remembering a bit of a poem she wrote about how on a certain type of spring day it can seem like you're back in autumn. Or maybe it was the other way 'round.

Still on a Neil Morris kick...his frags are SERIOUSLY fantastic! Gotham for today!

Professor Metro Man is busy putting the finishing touches on his presentation for "Perfume School" this Saturday. I am excited and nervous, more the former than the latter.

Today I am wearing one of the new perfumers I met at Sniffapalooza, Jessica Buchanan.

1000 Flowers Reglisse Noire

Now this is what I'm talking about when it comes to licorice. It is like a black jujube for the nose. Really deep, dark, and beautiful.

Have a Wondrous Wednesday everyone.

Snow, ineespenes-- my sympathy!

I am enjoying Paris Jardins Romantiques today. In the week we were away, our back yard has greened up and I'm looking forward to the year's lilies of the valley and roses.

SMM, your adventures always cresting new fragrance horizons are just so darn exciting. Im happy for you.

The hEcTiC has settled here. Early Tuesday a.m. DD and NYC GF returned from Nashville half marathon and required attention. Monday nights presentation was well received, and I got lots of nice comments Ive been attending these meetings and seminars for 20 years, and your program was the best one of all time. It was like 10 programs in one. [Oh, I cant even feign blushing. Yes. I am T-H-A-T good.]

Did stop by the mall on Monday, and was customarily disgusted with the offerings except for wait for it Leslie Blodget Golden Light (mandarin, kiwi, bergamot, red currant, water lily, honeysuckle, peony, teakwood, musk and orris). Smitten! Sweet and tart lemonade. Didn't buy it at the time, but will get it soon.

Needing to feed the tart desire, Im wearing LArtisan dHumeur Jalouse today. (Winks yet again at Ubu.) Its so much like rhubarb, I could just pucker.

I'm in Cabochard edp (modern, never smelled the vintage). This is supposed to be "too tame," but I smell like a gentleman's well-worn tobacco pouch full of sweet cured pipe tobacco and I don't think I would want it to be too much more than what it is.
Yay, Quarry! I knew you would be great.
I decided to get creative this morning (before I showered just in case my experiment went awry).

Started with a layer of vintage original Aveda LOVE oil and then generously spritzed Priscilla Presley Roses and More (thanks Tao) on top...what I got is a glorious rosey floral and sandalwood extravaganza! Gosh I smell good.

A sample of DSH's Tunisian Opium. It's so soft and gorgeous and well-blended! I love DSH oils.

Good morning everyone!
I'm in Aquaba for men today. My husband tried it yesterday and made me curious. I think I like it a lot both on him and on me! Here's one fragrance when sandalwood is actually working for me!

mochi227, I don't like my Alien in Spring. It's my Fall/Winter scent.

This is my third straight day in Atelier Trefle Pur. I have enough left in my sample for one more day. I think I may end up purchasing a full bottle of this.

Good day all! I'm wearing Kanebo Morinosei. I'd describe it as a lighter (vintage) Murasaki... maybe halfway between Murasaki and Quartz. A delicate skin scent.

Congrats on daring layering Bloomy!
And congrats Quarry, doesn't that appreciation of your abilities and hard work feel great!?
Thank you for beautiful thoughts & image on No 19 Kumquat!
Everyone is smelling fresh and lovely today! I have to remain scentless this morning because I am doing a sense memory exercise with my students later today.

Take care, all!

Guerlain's Nahéma PdT. Long time, no smell this spicy beast!

Am feeling fresh and energized wearing my Pour Monsieur by Chanel (which I received from lovely Basenoter, Nostalgie, and recommended by lovely Basenoter, Leesee). Plus, I'm scent twins with Le Grand Duc!

Thanks, C Rose. I'm glad you like the imagery!

Kumquat - I always look forward to the images in your SOTD post.

Quarry - Congrats on what sounds like an amazing presentation & the positive feedback!

Professor SMM - I'm so curious about your Saks class! I'm not a Facebook member, but it ("it" = your class) sounds very cool. Good luck with it!

Weary here. Not sleeping so well. Worried about things. Sigh.

Nevertheless, my morning stop here to the SOTD thread is something that I enjoy...today, I'm finding it inspiring.

SOTD: FM L'Eau d'Hiver

Have a great day, dear BNers!

It's windy and chilly today, a perfect fit for the smoky, benzoin-laden goodness of Annick Goutal Vanille Exquise. One of my favorite vanillas ever.

Cheers, all!

Quite an eventful day today, ehr?

I am in Clementine Perfume Hazel's actually -- gardenias abloom, yet only on my skin.

Interesting to read your thoughts about various fragrances colliding with my perceptions today -- spicy beast Nahema? comforting Habanita? briney Merveilles? is Alien ever any good on anyone besides Diva and Sunnyfunny? :-) Agree with clearing power of Prescriptives Calyx, however.
Twolf, I wear Alien pretty well in cold rainy Winters. If I remember correctly

SotA is Cacharel's Liberté, which I love and haven't worn lately. I'm also testing out a gigundo bottle of Cabaret by Grès, which I bought blind at Marshall's this afternoon. I'd read so many raves on it, but I'm not sure this is for me. I can't think what it reminds me of...Paloma Picasso? Coriandre? I need some time with it. My bottle is all clear, with no red.

This evening...Musc Ravageur.

I found I could not bear to go scentless after all, so I spritzed the teeniest amount of Barbara Bui before leaving the house this morning. It stayed nice and close to my skin and did not interfere with the sense memory exercise at all. Yay!
