Am going to bed soon here in the U.S.A., but plan on layering Calèche by Hermès with Ivoire de Balmain tomorrow (5/3), in this continuing streak of cold, wet, overcast days. It's really a nice combo!

The cats and I are turning in. Good night and have a wonderful day everyone!

SO great to have NYNEVE back!!!

That does it!!

Having The Real Thing living in my house for the past few days I have taken the decision (fleeting) that
Histoires des Parfums Vert Pivoine
is IT I am going off to rob a bank and then invest.

Please visit me in prison - it will have been worth it.

Hot, humid & pouring down rain...thunderstorms, in fact. I want something limpid.......Neil Morris' Zephyr is just the ticket! http://www.neilmorrisfragrances.com/...ollection.html

It is just going to be one of those days as we have to boil water because of a massive water main break and it is raining.

Wearing another one of the Ateliers today.

Atelier Cologne Oolang Infini

I am finding this surprisingly refreshing. This whole line really works for me.

Have a Marvelous Monday everyone.

How funny, I came back to post the scent I just spritzed and it turns out I'm house twins with RHM!!!

Well, raise the roof and give me five sister!

Adding my thoughts, prayers, and condolences to ((Dora)) in Greece.

Happy belated Birthday to Therese! I hope you had a lovely day.

I'm wearing Ava Luxe Neroli Blossom this morning.

When I was a little girl of about nine or ten, my mother brought me a souvenir orange blossom perfume from a trip she made to Florida. The glass bottle was contained in a round wooden ball made to look like an orange. This Ava Luxe fragrance takes me right back to the day I first opened that bottle and sniffed that strange and magical odor. Ava Luxe’s smells so pure and true - bitter green, pungent, resinous, and also sweet and rich as honey. I smell all parts of the plant in it. A heavenly scent!

Have a good day, all!

Thanks again to all for your good wishes.

With ubu in Neil Morris, but for me, Gandhara.

Starting the week in a witches' weed, Keiko Mecheri Datura Blanche

notes: white datura, indian tuberose, heliotrope, bitter almond, tonka bean, vanilla madagascar

It's a Bank Holiday here, so I wore this today in case it was going to be the sort of floral that can clear an office in 10 seconds. I shouldn't have worried, this is delightfully wearable, a narcotic flower caught on a warm moonlit breeze.

Dora, Somehow I missed reading about the death of your dear brother-in-law in yesterday's thread. So sorry to hear of it, and I will be praying for you and your family.

I'm wearing my little figgy sample of Fico di Amalfi-- I spritzed before dressing, so got a bit of it on my clothing and want to see how long it lasts this time. (On bare arm, only 1.5 hours last time.)

EDIT: Well, Fico di Amalfi didn't last much longer under clothes than it did on bare skin. It was nice while it lasted, but I'm not someone who wants to respray often.

Borsari Macchia Mediterranea today. Time to crank up the vacuum again. Sigh.

Grinning cuz Ive got a swap arranged for some Blodgett Golden Light.

If not for the din and stink of weekday traffic, I dont think I could make myself stay inside.
Wish everyone could know the joy of owning a piece of land and developing a relationship with it over a 55-year period. I feel so rich.

Oh, thats right vacuuming. Sigh.

Finally a little sunny here, but cool. I'm going to stay with the PdN Vanille Tonka that I enjoyed so much yesterday.

Bond - Eau de New York
Snappy citrus and rich neroli are reminders
of the sparkle and life in the resilient city.
A cheerful scent that fortifies as I rush about my busy day.

Eau de New York was released in 2004.
The fragrance was created by nose Vera Vanore of Robertet,
with notes of grapefruit, mandarin, bergamot, petit grain, fresh greens,
neroli, gardenia, cyclamen, white lily, basil, verbena, jasmine, vetiver,
oakmoss, skin musk, and white wood.

Three spritzes of Chloe Narcisse on this wet, muggy (80 degrees!), rainy day in NYC. I over-applied; two spritzes is the max. It will last all day.

Dora, I'm so sorry.

Yesterday I was out shopping and spritzed from a tester of A Scent by Issey Miyake. It struck me as a weak imitation of something I already owned, so I'm wearing the real thing today instead:

Vent Vert de Balmain

Started off this morning comparing the new Miss Dior EDT on my right arm and vintage Miss Dior on my left. Both are lovely, but WOW what a difference! The vintage, which I think is parfum, opens so much sharper and more green. It is more complex and I definitely get leather here. The new version is much lighter, softer and more sweet as well. Not scents for young girls at all.

I used to hate frags like this when I was younger, now I can't get enough of it. I guess I've become the proverbial *old lady*...

Deep Red by Hugo Boss, followed by:

Curious by Britney Spears, followed by:

Escada Moon Sparkle, so far...

I just returned from a trip to California, so am still in holiday mode (even though I've still got a wretched cold).

Good morning, dear BNers...happy belated birthday wishes to Therese, and my condolences to dora. Hugs to all as we brace ourselves for another week. Had an awful headache on Saturday, but yesterday was a fun and relaxing day.

What have I been wearing? Well, headache on Sat. meant nothing (that is, no fragrance). Yesterday afternoon, I tried Balenciaga Paris. It was not good on me, unfortunately (I thought the first testing was really pretty good, but yesterday it was overwhelmingly "plasticky".) I tried to scrub and then dab over some Verte Violette. This layering experiment failed, though. All it did was amplify one particular thing about (some) violet scents....

Last night, I wore Rochas Femme to bed. If the vintage is better, it must be simply spectacular, as I really enjoy the current version.

SOTD: Agent Provocateur

A little unconventional for me to wear to work, I know, but it jazzes up the button-down, cardi, and jeans.

Welcome to Basenotes whitelace! I get the feeling that you're a going to have some serious fun here. I love wearing several different frags during the course of the day too! Hope you get over your cold quickly!!!

I have moved on to trying out my L'Artisan Parfumeur Vanilia, (which I blind bought...baaad bloomy). But I kinda like it!

This morning, ubu, Therese & I were scent siblings, wearing three different Neil Morris fragrances.

This afternoon, Kumquat & I were scent sisters wearing Bond No 9 Eau de New York.

Tonight Le Duc & I are scent twins wearing Poison edt. (Mine's not vintage though.)

I feel as if I am "in tune" with my basenote family today. It's been a delightfully smelly day.

Welcome to Basenotes Whitelace

This afternoon it's Tabac Blond extrait. Feeling a like a strong woman this afternoon I guess.

Havana tonight. There are few better and not many equals. The drydown is just superb.

Léonard de Léonard for the day, Xerjoff Casamorati Mefisto for the test of the evening.

Love both of them, and the Leónard de Leónard is so fragrant on me, I was worried about becoming Sillagezilla! But no... the office mate didn't even notice. Although I usually do wrists, backs of hands, inner elbows, ears, chest... only Guerlain Coriolan had her saying "wHoof! That's strong!"

And after a few hours of Mefisto loveliness, I'm wearing Shalimar for the rest of the eve/night.

Best to all...

I finally showered up to go run some errands... in a delicious cloud of Serge Lutens Fleurs de Citronnier.

I am in Rochas Femme today. I have just a mini of this scent but I liked it so much all day long that I wish I had a full bottle of it. I must say, before I sign off, that everyone smells divine. Take care, all.

So sorry, Dora.

Guerlain Chamade for this evening. Busy (at work) and lazy (at home) again, I wish it were vice versa.

Q., that's sweet about developing the relationship for over 50 years.

RHM -- kisses your way, just because.

I'm wearing Cuir de Lancome today. I spritzed this on early this morning at 6:30 before leaving for work. I've enjoyed it all day long, but thought that it was long gone by now. After almost 14 hours at work, wearing scrubs, I changed back into my clothes to go home. ahhhh ... the sweet/astringent smell of hawthorn + leather clinging to my shirt from this morning ... such a lift!

It's a Tabac Blond day for me, too, MK, only mine's edp.

I even got all confrontational on a gal at work today. I can be such a b*tch sometimes.
I wore Theirry Mugler Alien today. its been a while since I've worn this and I forgot how strong it is. Put it on before leaving for work this morning and now I'm back at home and this fragrance is still going strong. I hope I didnt offend any of my coworkers because I am sure that I over spritzed. Next time only one spritz of this stuff!
Happy Monday!

Today I wore Serge Lutens' Louve. I got the comment that I smelled like baby powder even before I reached my office.
I seldom get comments.

You all smell lovely. I need to try some N. Morris perfumes.
Still on a road trip with my dear dad- yesterday's SOTD was La Mome, and today No5 Eau Premiere again.

Well, didn't you all smell beautiful today?! Welcome to Basenotes, whitelace! And Primrose, I'm sorry that you're under the weather. Get well soon!

I did a rare repeat day Felanilla again. YUM!!!
