Woody, summery, feminine??

I'm hoping someone can help me!

I'm looking for summer/day fragrance and am having some trouble. I'm totally suck on what I would consider to be winter/evening scents.
I adore fragrances such as Wenge by Donna Karan & Sensuous by Estee Lauder. I'm quite picky (I'm sure everyone here is!) and find I really only like woody fragrances on myself & am not a fan of all the sickly sweet smells out during this time of year.

Any suggestions for a Woody, summery, feminine fragrance??

Thanks!

Try Costes by Costes, Feminite du Bois by Serge Lutens and/or Tam Dao by Diptyque

Balenciaga Paris is a warm violet with a woody-musky base, the notes: bergamot, spices, pepper, violet, carnation, oakmoss, cedar, vetiver, patchouli, labdanum. Please try this on your sking & allow it to dry down before you make a decision about it. I find it stunning and I am crazy about "woody" fragrances.

Hi Mike,
I already own Feminite du Bois (which I love) but would also consider that quite a heavy winter smell.

You would suggest this as a summer fragrance??
I know there are no hard rules but I think that's a little too heavy for everyday wear.

You might like Chanel Bois des Iles.

Ah, well I personally detest FdB myself, so you're probably a better judge about it's wearability in summer than I am.

Another you might want to try is Chaos by Donna Karan.

Ahh I love Chaos, another fav of mine!!

Perhaps I should stick with what I know & love!

To me a woody scent must be light in order to be worn in warm summer weather. Hermes Un Jardin en Méditerranée comes to mind as a potential fit, though the woody aspect is not the focus of this scent.

Hmmm -- I haven't smelled this yet myself, but maybe Champagne de Bois from Sonoma Scent Studio? People LOVE this one, and it sounds like it combines wood and sparkling in a way that might be summery.

Yes I agree. All of the suggested are beautiful fragrances which I would definitely wear but they are not one's for a summers day.

The description of Hermes Un Jardin en Méditerranée sounds like the sort of fragrance I am looking for, natural, some woods, creamy, coconut warm but still fresh.

Thank you DocmanCC

Olivier Durbano Rock Crystal! A refreshing (somehow dry) woody incense frag.
Diptyque Ofrésia: A fresh woody dry flowery wonder.
Annick Goutal Duel: A green woody concotion, a find it quite unisex

CHEERS!

MPG Bahiana, Unisex summery with a soft woody base, summery but still wearable in any occasion.

I'm sampling Chanel Sycomore today and can't help but think this is an excellent vetiver for spring and summer. Citrus, vetiver, subtle flowers, sandalwood. It's vetiver in a clean and fresh kind of way.

The sandalwood in L'Artisan Premier Figuier makes this one perfect for summer wear. It isn't sweet (though the extreme version is sweet) and on a hot and humid day this one actually makes me "think cool"-- and thus feel cool.

I'm struggling with "woody" and "summer" _and_ feminine. The only thing that I can think of is Parfumerie Generale Iris Oriental (formerly Iris Taizo), which is woody and light and dry and lovely. Abandoning feminines, I also find that Art of Shaving Sandalwood works for me in the summer. (Maybe you could build your own by layering a floral over it?)

Is there any chance that tea would work? If so, I'd recommend L'Eau Rare Matale and Harmatan Noir, also from Parfumerie Generale, and Hermessence Osmanthe Yunnan.

Hermes Eau des Merveilles

I just sampled Eau D'Italie, and this might fit the bill -- light citrus, some unobtrusive floral, and then a rich, woody base. It smells very refreshing and summery, but the wood is prominent. It's not overwhelmingly feminine, however.

I'll second Hermes Un Jardin en Méditerranée. Also, you may try Jo Malone Dark Amber and Ginger Lily. Despite the name, I feel woods there. (I find Hermes Un Jardin en Mediterranee and JM Dark Amber somewhat similar. )

Also, have you tried SL Un Bois Violette? Or, if you like sandalwood, how about SL Santal Blanc?

I second Eau de Merveilles. the first scent that came to mind.

Hermes Caleche (Delicate version) is exactly what you are after. In fact, I think Hermes may be a perfect line for you to sample thoroughly from.
