I spent all of last week in the company of vintage Guerlain... thanks to mon cher Mr. G

Today, inspired by Walker Minton's excellent article, I think I will sport Ayala Moriel's Rainforest.
Thanks to my friend odysseusm for recommending I order a sample set.

Happy Monday everybody!

L'Occitane Eau D'Iparie. Much bleaker than yesterday's ambery Dune, its incense smells like a memory soaked into stone and overgrown with moss and lichen, with the sun always just on the other side of the wall.

Another Guerlainista here in the magnificent Shalimar extrait.

Wish you all a good start to your week.

The weather HAS cooled down ;-)

Kisses, dear Tao- and Kewart- happy travels, my dear !

We have birthdays aplenty today-
So, CELEBRATE, you dancin' fools !

Wore Aoud Red Flowers to bed...
Man, this is good. Floral / chypre -feeling in such a delightful way, with a trace of powder.
WHY do I let it just sit there ?
I'll lather, rinse, and repeat ;-D

Make it gooood, kittycats.

Good morning everyone Probably a weird thing to say,but finally it's monday! Had a rather exhausting weekend with work( up5.30) and hardly any time to fix the apartment because the landlord gave us so short notice. He is selling the house so a realestate guy was suppose to come this morning. He then gave us cardboradboxes and told us to store things in it... I was quite angry yesterday, but now it turns out he's not coming before the 18th.Sotd is Miss Dior. Kewart: enjoy your holiday!

Shalimar, Guerlain
Hey, happy Hols Kewart. Hope you have a great time.
Thank goodness you get an extra week to pack up, Ines. Your landlord is sitting on my mental 'naughty step' for behaving like that.

Yes, it's chillier here too, so I'm going to join my friend Taolady in Youth Dew Amber Nude. I like the tang of medicinal herbalness behind the amber.

Have a good one all. x

It is Shalimar Day and so one must go with the flow.

Guerlain Shalimar

I always have a hard time wearing this because this was one of two fragrances that my mother wore. It is gorgeous but I get a wicked Oedipal complex when I have it on.

Have a Melodic Monday everyone.
Hello everyone!

I'm back from my warm and relaxing vacation! It's good to be back I suppose, and great to see the kitties (and catch up on the goings-on around basenotes, of course!) but I can't say I'm thrilled with how cold it is here. I'm taking advantage of it however, and wearing an old favorite that I thought I'd never see again...but there it was, a pristine box on a shelf in a dusty old liquor store in Sint Maarten! I'm in the rich and opulent, warm and furry Mystère de Rochas.

Y'all have a great day!
Still in love with Carnal Flower !

Have a lovely new day everyone !
Whose birthday is it? Is it Tao's? I know it's in May. Enquiring Minds need to know!!

I'm wearing an old friend today, L'Air du Temps. Too bad she's not what she was, but I still love her. I don't let go easily (well...at all).

Love to everybody.

Orange Sanguine Cologne Absolute by Atelier Perfumes (from a sample)

A very generous SA (I think he was flirting with me) at Neiman Marcus yesterday gave me a sample of this one, and WOW it's a winner. Too expensive but oh my...this orange lover has hit the jackpot. Summer is here and little puffs of orange zest are swirling all around me.

Happy Monday to all. Out the door in Mimosa Pour Moi. More later!

SotE;

Chloé Narcisse
- Eau de Toilette -

As for the Dior Homme, I get more longevity and sillage outta the EdT,
and it is at the same time more sweet and lipstick'ish, than the cologne.

Today I am in Coco Mademoiselle. I have a little headcold, but this penetrates it.

Habit Rouge Beau Cavalier by Guerlain.
I'm still dealing with vertigo, so the idea of wearing scent just is not appealing for some reason. Take care, all.
Is it Monday already? Don't know why Saturday & Sunday whiz by so much faster than Monday & Tuesday.

Good morning to all. I'm in Chanel Cristalle from a sample.

Unfortunately this isn't going to work for me. I almost couldn't get through the initial lemon/aldehyde blast. Thankfully it settled down quickly, but it's just not my cup of tea. I may try it in the future when/if my 'nose' develops more. For now, though, my curiosity has been satisfied.

Wishing everyone a great day!

Can I tell you all how much I love the pictures here? Big, beautiful, thoughtful ones like Kumquat's, but also your avatars...

SOTD: FM L'Eau d'Hiver

So...someone in the smell-radius of my office is wearing something that is a dreadfully bad match to her chemistry (and yes, I'm pretty certain that the emitter is a "she"). It's actually giving me a headache. :P And here's the weird thing - I have an urge to drop all my work, find the source, and ask what the **** she is wearing. Ha! (I do have a guess, but...)

Hugs, all!

Habanita today; Shalimar yesterday. The weather has turned cold again. I was ecstatic to wear nothing but Cristalle on my recent trip to Hawaii. Cristalle IS summer to me!

Lahana

This one, with its super sweetness and big sillage, is fun for me to wear around the house on my off days. It reminds me of the best parts of the summer I was 12.

My SotE is the last drop of a decant of vintage Tabu. I am tired and I find it comforting this evening. I will have to ferret some out on ebay one day, just to have on hand.

Sending Leesee a ((hug)). I hope you are feeling better. My sinus/allergy symptoms were making me dizzy recently. I guess it was affecting my inner ear. It's much better now. I hope your vertigo will be gone soon!
I needed a bit of added confidence today, so I'm wearing Bandit! It's always been my "don't jack with me" frag ...

Thank you, lilybelle. ( I hope it will be gone soon, too.) I'm sorry you are feeling tired today.

A round of well wishes for everyone feeling a little other than wonderful today...

We had big storms move through ahead of a dry line, actually watched some funnel clouds forming (from a storm that was moving away from here, it was amazing, turbulent wild clouds and crazy wind.) No damage in my area but many got hit by some REALLY fast-moving tornadic storms.
Rope form tornado north and west of here... yikers!

So, with the wild weather in mind, I think something dangerous and a little wild for the SoTE... hmm... liberally-applied Bandit with a Bvlgari Black back!

Rawr? <lol>

So, the algorhythm is fairly clear -- do not post on the cusp of the hour -- just like me earlier today and 30R. yesterday -- otherwise it would be our infamous "not found". Yichhh...

Anyhow, glad to see Ms.E back, I have been thinking of you fondly.

Best wishes to jet lags, feet, moms and vertigos.

Steve Smith (Red Green) was a cool cat yesterday -- signed my roll of duct tape and shook Mr.T's hand for some wacky ideas that he said he might even utilize in the upcoming episodes.

I wore La Mome today and right now I put on Tom Ford White Patchouli. Tomorrow I will have a trying day -- going to get my mammies grammed.

OMG Twolf, you are too funny! I'll be sending positive thoughts your way while you feel the squeeeeze.

I was so busy last week I did not have time to post, but today's scents were/are: early morning vintage Dior Miss Dior, which brought on a severe craving for leather and so Chanel Cuir de Russie for midday followed by L'Artisan Parfumeur DZING! for this evening.

Twolf, I'm hereby inducting you into the slowing growing La Mome Official Fan Club. Sorry about the mammy-gram. You know how to practice for the test don't you? Just slam the mamms one at a time in your freezer door Yuck Yuck. I read that in an office e-mail a few years ago. the trouble was there was a woman working there who had never had a mammogram and she thought it was a serious post. Scared her off preventative medicine for sure.

Well I'm pooped tonight after going back to work after a 10 day vacation-
SOTD was Thymes Goldleaf and Hydrangea
SOTE is my newly acquired Morabito Mon Classique
