Luxury Fragrances

Please name some fragrances that make you think of luxury, style, a lot of money:

The ones I encountered and offer me that kind of vibe are: Dior Homme, Bleecker Street, Back to Black, A*MEN.

Any other out there?

Basically anything from the Creed house, Also for some reason I associate BLV by Bvlgari with the affluent lifestyle.

adp colonia

I do quite agree with Dior Homme. Bottle looks stylishly opulent, and the juice smells very metro-sexual.

This might sound strange, but Pinaud Clubman and Gendarme. I've seen Pinaud Clubman in just about every chic country club locker room I've ever been in, and I've heard many, many celebrities mention liking Gendarme. Aside from those, there are the obvious ones such as Creed, Serge Lutens, Amouage, Xerjoff, Clive Christian, and By Kilian.

Lets not make the mistake of assuming that price = superior quality as that is not always the case ..... but saying that , anything that costs more than I can afford or am willing to spend is luxurious

Blenheim Bouquet is one of the few frags which signify to me the pinnacle of tasteful and timeless luxury

Guerlain Derby in the bee bottle. Looks snappy on the dressing table. Don't bother with the atomiser bulb, though. It leaks and will cause the fragrance to evaporate.

24 Faubourg smells like luxury.
Dior Homme is outstanding.

*** Primrose - forgot about Guerlain- a lot of the Guerlains smell luxurious to me. Old world luxury that is....

Homage by Amouage

It depends of what I think of luxury:

- If it has to do with the way Occidentals regard Middle Eastern tastes, Amouage comes to mind.
- Penhaligon's and Creed come to mind if luxury is understood in the sense of L'Ancienne Regime and / or XIX / pre WWII European Courts.
- Artisan perfumists come to mind when luxury is associated with its value due to its uniqueness.
- Old moneyed people and their sense of luxury (which disregards middle-class snobbery) makes me think of traditional barbershop-like scents sold in drugstores as well as scents made by Roger & Gallet.
- I always thought of Hermes as a brand associated with the sense the French burgoisie might have of "luxury".
- Chanel and Dior make me think are brands affected gay men might think of being luxurious.

Definitely Amouage
I tend to buy moderately priced frags, so this is a bit difficult for me. I suppose my bottle of Tom Ford Grey Vetiver is a bit more luxurious than most.

To me, a luxury fragrance is one that smells unique, exotic and rich (ie. not light and transparent). Some of the fragrances I feel fits this profile are:

1. L'air du desert Marocain
2. Chergui
3. Musc Ravageur

It's love or hate, if you were on the love side, you wouldn't think it's a joke

Cartier Pasha, Must De Cartier, Curve For Men, A*Men, Carolina Herrera CH, Opium, One Man Show,...
However i don't like Kouros, but i think it's Luxury.
To me Declaration from Cartier makes me think of luxury. And I second the Guerlain Heritage suggestion. It smells like "old money".
I don't really see how A*Men has got so many responses. I think of it as a Jersey Shore fragrance.
Bvlgari Extreme, Soir and PH
Dolce and Gabbana
Jaipur EDP
Gendarme

thats gold men. Jubilation to my nose is just a bunch of incense-y basket of dried fruits . :P

Dior Homme
Vetiver Tonka by Hermes
Guerlain Vetiver
Acqua di Parma Colonia Intensa
The JAR line have cultivated an aura of luxury through high prices and very limited availability, maxing out the exclusivity factor. I find it all pretentious, but the only fragrance of theirs I've tried is now in my top ten, so they just may be on to something...

-Agreed with you. I will also add Amouage Jubilation xxv, Hermès Equipage, and Frapin Caravelle Epicee.
-Even though Creed Millesime Imperial is a very fresh and light fragrance, it has a sophisticated luxurious aura.
For old money: Bois du Portugal by Creed
For new money Tiffany for Men or PdN New York
post #44 of 47
I must also add Comme des Garcons and The House of Cartier.....Clive Christian fits into this category also!!! I also thought of Jivago and Chanel.....

Hmmmmmm

I'd go for

Egoiste
Creed Bois du Portugal
GFT Eucris

Probably more but off the top og my head they would be the ones I have

Edit: How could I forget the magnificent Lorenzo Villoresi Uomo... it's perfection.
Sorry to bump this thread once more and thus intrude, but since Chanel Egoiste was mentioned, I'd also say Chanel pour Monsieur: very Old School kind of luxury, understated yet distinguished, truly classy, with a lot of personality and individuality, under its apparently very low-key, no-nonsense and clean-cut elegance

Luxury, style, and a lot of money are, in the USA, the attributes of none other than Bijan Men. You can buy a 2.5 oz bottle for $120.00 at the main site of Bijan Fragrances. http://storesense04.dynamic.net/bija...lassic+for+Men. It contains '98 precious ingredients'. It is also sold in the world's most expensive boutique.
