Black Tie by Washington Tremlett
No. 88 by Czech and Speake
Rose Oud by By Kilian
Domenico Caraceni by Domenico Caraceni
Une Rose by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
Rose Poivree by The Different Company
Noir de Noir by Tom Ford

I would add Domenico Caraceni.

I haven't tried Black Tie by Washington Tremlett or Rose Oud by By Kilian.

It really depends on what you want from a rose. What I want from a rose is "lightness" and beauty, my list is as follows:

Lyric by Amouage
Rose 31 Le Labo
Black Aoud Montale
No. 88 (I am not a fan of this)

Lyric and Rose 31 are two of my highest rated fragrances. Lyric is a pure rose, utterly beautiful. Le Labo is a soapy rose, more manly than Lyric. Black Aoud doesn't strike me as a rose fragrance to be honest. Definitely try this beast before coming to a conclusion. I LOVE Black Aoud, but I LOVE the other two more, all 3 are extremely good fragrances.

I will add it to the list

I've tried a lot of rose scents- a favorite note of mine.

Rose 31 is tops for me. Contemporary- rosey- manly- woody- spicy. Just got complimented on it last night again.

Next Caraceni. Elegant as can be.

Lyric just a bit rosey for me. But I'd probably put that third.

The others are very nice too, just not my cup of tea. No. 88 is pretty similar to DC 1913, but it has a foul note in it that some people get hit with and some don't. I get slammed with it.

Add Une Rose by Frédéric Malle Éditions de Parfums, and rank it first.

My pecking order:

Domenico Caraceni by Domenico Caraceni
No. 88 by Czech and Speake
Lyric by Amouage
Black Tie by Washington Tremlett
Rose Oud by By Kilian
Black Aoud Montale
Rose 31 Le Labo

Deleting what I haven't tried from this list...

No. 88 by Czech and Speake
Black Aoud Montale
Noir de Noir by Tom Ford
Domenico Caraceni by Domenico Caraceni
Rose 31 Le Labo
Une Rose by Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle
Rose Poivree by The Different Company
Rose Oud by By Kilian

To your list, I'd add Czech & Speake's Dark Rose, Sonoma Scent Studio's Vintage Rose and Velvet Rose, Eau d'Italie's Paestum Rose, Penhaglion's Elixir and Hammam Bouquet, Serge Lutens' Sa Majeste La Rose and Rose de Nuit, Diptyque's L'Ombre Dans L'Eau, Creed's Fleurs de Bulgarie, and Homage by Amouage - to start.

There are a ton of rose fragrances out there; I've barely gotten to sampling a fraction of them, and yet I've found much to love.

I just want to add that there are some good Montale rose scents out there, other than Black Aoud that is. Black Aoud, to me, gets alot of hype. Which is totally fine. But Aoud Damascus and Deep Rose are pretty good rose scents as well

Black Aoud
Rose Poivree in its original formulation
Paestum Rose
Opone

L'Ombre dans L'Eau by Diptyque

* Hammam Bouquet, Penhaligon's
Black Aoud, Montale
Black Tie by Washington Tremlett

* possible additions

Oud and saffron just don't work as well as rose accompaniments for me as sandalwood, incense, green, or chypre' accords.

Another bunch - I've been brainstorming here: Juliet Has A Gun's Midnight Oud and Citizen Queen, Tauer's Une Rose Chypree, ELDO's Rossy di Palma, Parfums Rosine Rose D'Homme and Twill Rose, L'Artisan's Voluer de Roses, Montale's Ta'if Roses, Ormonde Jayne's Ta'if, and Comme des Garcons' Rose.

By the way, I'm only recommending roses I know at LEAST two other male Basenoters, not counting me, wear.

Black Tie
Black Aoud
No. 88
Domenico Caraceni 1913
Rose 31
Ungaro III (current formulation)

FYI, the Ungaro layered with Tea Rose probably moves up a few places.

I don't think I could ever get away with wearing it but I have seriously considered buying a bottle of Tocade just to sniff when I need a pick-me-up.

Hell, I may still do.

+1 Black Aoud
+1 Juliette Has A Gun Midnight Oud

And possibly... Aramis 900

(from my female but lovin' those masculine scents on my skin perspective)
Acqua di Parma Colonia no doubt. A true, crisp rose without the usual cloying suspects namely vanilla.

Great suggestion. Aromatics Eixir for Men, really.

My favorites from many wearings of these are, in order of my preferences:

(1) Rose 31 Le Labo
(2) Black Tie Washington Tremlett
(3) Rose Oud by Killian
(4) Lyric by Amouge
(5) Paestum Rose
(6) Domenico Caraceni
(7) No. 88

I think the easiest to enjoy by most men is Black Tie by Washington Tremlett - most everyone who smells this will love it. Rose 31 is the sexiest and biggest attraction - they will follow you home sniffing this one! Rose Oud is the best smelling rose fragrance if you just isolate the rose part of it apart from other ingredients. Probably the two best rose scents not mentioned in this list are Midnight Oud by Juliette Has a Gun and Golden Aoud by Montale - both are fantastic rose, saffron, oud blends.
If you like saffron and rose in combination, you might try Tom Ford Noir de Noir and Diptyque Opôné.
№88 C&S from the list.

I`d add some rose-based feminine chypres, like 1000 Patou, Cabochard Gres, - or Nahema Guerlain and Parfum Sacre Caron.
My favourite rose of all time is Hammam Bouquet, so I would definitely add that!
Aoud Homme - M Micallef (Noir de Noir on steroids)
1. Black Tie by Washington Tremlett
These two are tied at #1 because they are both sooooo good.
#1 - Amouage Lyric - ethereal, uplifting rose. Very complex, very good.
#1 - Montale Black Aoud - smack-you-in-the-face rose oud combination. Luxurious.

#2 - Le Labo Rose 31 - Fresh, dirty rose. The dirty part i hated from first sniff, and now thats why i LOVE this beast.

#3 - Domenico Caraceni 1913 - Soapy, fresh rose. Bright is a better word instead of fresh.
#3 - Editions de Parfums Frederic Malle Une Rose - Very real, smell like a real garden of rose. A tad too feminine for my taste.
Out of all of those, I only own Noir de Noir, and I think it's beautiful. I'm not a huge rose fan, but this is done so well. Quite possibly one of the most beautiful fragrances I've ever used -- only used for very special events.
