Green Floral Chypre
------------------
Top Notes: Galbanum, Grass, Green Mandarin, Lemon, Rosemary
Middle Notes: Rose, Jasmine, Iris
Base Notes: Oakmoss, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Myrrh, Birch
------------------

This is a very nice green scent with a good supporting base of oakmoss and woodsy notes, notably patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver, and birch. The birch here doesn't make a particularly leathery. The tangerine in the top will do for bergamot, so I guess this would pass as a woody-green-floral chypre with rose, jasmine and iris doing the heavy lifting for the florals section. There is a touch of incense in this, which is due to the resinous quality of rosemary; any maker of church incense knows that you can atone for inferior frankincense by adding a little good rosemary oil into the mix. Galbanum, grass, and rosemary are a good green note here, with just enough of a hint of dissonance between the dense rosemary and the slightly sharp-and-sour grass note.

In a certain way the most perfect perfume ever created. Extremely well blended, soft, long lasting, compelling, gender free, naturally beautiful and a bit raunchy as well.

It's sampling time...
After yesterday's SotE - Histoire de Parfums 1725 Casanova, which obviously stands for a soft-spoken, shy coaxer (sillage!), but overall nice and sharing a certain feel of a discreet Le Male...
today it felt like a full wearing of Parfumerie Generale's Querelle
+ right wrist Aomassai and further up the arm Musc Maori (quite a double yuk)
SotE tonight will then be a full wearing of Bois Blond in order to conclude the PG sampling over the past few days.

Just received bottle of SL l'eau, and I really love it. Yes, it does go well with laundry-fresh clothes. I find it long-lasting and of very high quality. Far from being a run of the mill "fresh," it actually does smell like clothes that have been recently laundered and ironed, right down to the slightly musty or burnt smell of fresh-ironed cotton or linen.

I'm wearing it today to go with dressy meetings, a doctor appointment, and a haircut at a very nice salon. It's a very versatile scent.

To those who sampled and dismissed it quickly - give it another try. There's more going on here than you might think at first.

This is likely to become one of my top scents for summer.
