Bois De Portugal vs Antaeus - Unexpected result !!!

Ok guys, here's the background.

I've decided to start wearing two different frags at the same time once in a while, then canvassing for opinions...

I'm 50, I canvassesd a total of 8 women, both at work, then at a pub at lunchtime. All ladies were mature - late 30s to mid 50s.

Both colognes had been on for at least 3 hours before I started asking.

The result?

They all liked BdP, but all preferred Antaeus over BdP, without hesitation.

Personally, I perefer the Creed over the Chanel.

I'm surprised at how clear and unanamous the outcome was.

Is this what you would have expected?

Feel free to take a peek at my wardrobe and suggest what my next 'head to head' should be between.

[Edit - don't know why my wardrobe icon isn't visible]

Here's my wardrobe

Chanel - Allure
Chanel - Antaeus
Creed - Bois de Portugal
Comme De Garcons - 2 Man
Davidoff - Adventure
Davidoff - Cool Water
Montblanc - Homme Exceptionnel
Narciso Rodriguez - For Him
YSL - Kouros
YSL - La Nuite De L'Homme

That doesn't surprise me. Antaeus is a much warmer, friendlier, sexier scent. BdP to me has always been more of a "board room" scent. Potent for business; not so much a dating scent.

Your wardrobe doesn't show on your post.

Antaeus wins it in the drydown dept I bet. But BdP is better smelling in sillage. But then I've always favored BdP.
Thanks for sharing your findings though. So what's gonna be the next head-to-head?

Thanks for drawing that to my attention. Anybody know why?

Anyway, I've added my wardrobe to my OP

maybe make a tournament? it looks managable.
next could be kouros vs. cool water to take kouros off the list quickly.

What a great idea John. Thank you for being bold enough to do that, and share the results with us. I'll be interested to see how future tests go. What I would really be interested in (if you had it) would be Cool Water vs. Green Irish Tweed. Those two have been compared/discussed/debated here until the horse is not only dead, but a bloody mess.

However, I would really be interested to see if your test smellers among the female population could really discern a difference, and which was preferred.

It's something you'll have to correct in your settings.

I'd say put new YSL- Le Nuit up against old YSL- Kouros.

anateus vs 2 man

They are both grand classic fragrances, both very classy, mature and powerhouse, and still manage to be sensual while being suitable for the utmost formal occasions

I would go for both frags and wear them regularly, not just because they are both very likely to be enjoyed by the opposite gender, but mainly because they are some of the least linear and predictable male fragrances from the elegant-classic category

I'd like to see Kouros go head to head with Narciso Rodriguez.
