Too conservative, Help!!!!

Of my 15 bottles/decants, 11 are from Caron and Guerlain; and not their trendy, new releases, but the grand divas that have held court for a few generations now.

I need something that is shocking, liberal, unexpected, frivolous, maybe even.... dare I say it.... new.

Would should I try???

Well, if nothing else I'm getting a few ideas about some samples to send you!

(I'll be sure Bvlgari Black and Bandit are in there so you can layer them!)

What about some more obscure vintage fragrances? Maybe even old men's chypres?
I suspect you'd enjoy the original Soprani or Capucci chypres very much. More than happy to send samples as well.

Hillaire, what a lovely idea :-) If you do have samples, please let me know, sounds very interesting!

Forget new, you'll get some plastic juice that will make you reek of anonymity. Try Bandit, Bal a Versailles, L'Arte, Turbulences... All naughty potions with tons of personality.

Hillaire, I am totally in your corner....I have looked a long time for interesting perfumes, high quality, not owned by everyone and with strong personality. In stores now there are only a hand full that meet those criteria, BUT when we go back in time, there is a whole treasure to be found!!

BAYKAT, look at the thread 'Unsung treasures', that is really what you need!!!
Good luck,
B.

Something fresh from the garden- Neroli (Profumum), Mazzolari- Fleurs D'Oranger or Serge Lutens Iris Silver Mist might be just the thing!

Bvlgari Black was the first one to come to my mind.

First off, I would not consider a 'drobe that includes Isvaraya totally conservative!! But then......

OK. Get yourself to SanFran. Call or visit Jacqueline Parfumerie - 415-981-0858 and ask for the irascible owner Andre (he'll probably answer the phone.) He has a reputation for throwing people he doesn't like out of the store but you are a beautiful woman and he is French so I think you'll have an easy time of it.

Tell him that - for starters - you'd like to sniff
Kolnisch Juchten (http://www.basenotes.net/ID26130035.html) one of the world's strangest and most gorgeous 'fumes. All birch tar and leather and roses and not for the faint of heart. You may hate it but it may open the door for you.

Apparently this shop has EVERYthing and both Andre and his femme are super knowledgeable and passionate about fragrances as well.

Let us know!!

Dans Tes Bras, sort of an abstract version of sweat
Fleurs d'Oranger by Serge Lutens, cumin and orange blossom
Eau de Charlotte by Annick Goutal, airy wildflowers in a Parisian garden

I also vote for Bandit, Aromatics Elixir and experimenting with some men's frags like Caron's Third Man or Penhaligon's Quercus or Creed's Himalaya

Hi K- I don't think you are too conservatiive ! You have a lovely wardrobe really, girl. How about going to the Luckyscent website or The Perfumed Court site and typing in a search for each note you like and see what they come up with... I do this sometimes when I am stumped for something new to try .
