Fleur du Male...disappointed?

I recently ordered some samples and I have been extremely curious about Fleur du Male. I put some of the juice on my wrists (which cannot hold longevity) and I thought the opening was phenomenal. I love fragrances that jump at your face upon first application. I was enjoying the top notes a lot but then noticed this died down quickly in regards that I could still smell it but it was just a sweet smell and nothing more. I am not sure if this is because my wrists are poor in regards to holding a scent or that Fleur just doesnt hold the floral smell for the entire duration. The florals in the beginning are my absolute part. I am debating whether or not I want to put this on a wish list having worn this two times. I will try it on my neck next application but I have a feeling I might be disappointed with this one.

Any thoughts?

IMO Top note is worst thing about this. Orange Blossom.

The drydown to me is extremely bland. It's just a boring sweet smell to me. I prefer a scent that punches me in the face. Maybe this will grow on me. I realize wrists are not good for testing on me.

You're probably the first person I've heard of that actually likes the top notes! To me I find them rather disgusting and the drydown is the best part. It starts off really dirty and eventually becomes clean.

Smells like pee and classic Le Mâle
... I'm not in awe about this frag,
but it's fairly OK.
I reminds me extremely about Le
Mâle
, so I think ppl around me think
it's Le Mâle too, therefor I only use
my FdM at home!

Houses usually work in one base. For example i found Armani likes to make citrus scents. In Acqua Di Gio, i get orange in top, in Armani Code is too, Armani Eau pour Homme. or Base of Encre Noir is near to Lalique PH. And you will get this in Polo And Polo Black.

Beautiful, IMO: Top-Mid-Base. FdM, like most frags, is definitely not for everybody.

The nice thing about Fleur du Male is that is has Male in its name, therefor allowing guys uncomfortable about crossing the gender divide to wear what's essentially a moderately retro feminine floral. That being said, I don't find Fleur du Male to be particularly remarkable within its genre.

I'd say, if you like Fleur du Male, but find it a little boring, check out Comme des Garcons Daphne and Vero Profumo Rubj. Sample first, though, as they're a touch pricey!

I think it's beautiful and it's one of my winter staples. The floral element gives it an edge over le male.

Agreed. I would also add that the floral aspect never really goes away, but rather fades a bit. If you like the scent of Fleur du Male, then you should also try Prada Infusion de Fleur d'Oranger. The Orange blossom scent is very prevalent.
