Good Morning everyone. Have all a great day

Ate too much pre-Birthday choklit cake and am wide awake at a quarter to four. Was asked what fume I wanted for b-day and modestly requested White Linen since I figured that at least it could be found in our cultural wasteland.

What I got was....

...and I think I am liking it. Not as distinguished as the original - and I'm getting a lot of citrus. But it's fresh and pretty and suitable for summer, for sure.

Gonna try going back to bed now.

We have two birthdays today -- Whisperingleaves and Ubu's auntie (cavaliercanary) -- happy day to you and many fragrant surprises. Once again this time of a year I notice that geminis are favored at BN -- we might not speak so eloquently as other signs, but sure like wearing our fumes and have some information/sample exchange.

Ms.H -- I loved your joke about food and fragrance pairing for Q-fest yesterday. I wore it last night too.

It is still hot here and the humidity is decent (well, more decent) and it is bearable this early in the morning. We have not got any promised showers or any rain, for this matter. I chose Armand Basi In Red for today.

My throat feels better.

Body Kouros this morning.

While her post today was rather cryptic do I believe I read into it that...TODAY...may be our dear Taolady's Birthday? IF SO:

Happy Birthday ToooooYooouuu!!

Taolady: Is it indeed your birthday?! I always forget to scroll down to the basement of the page...Have a glorious day, if it be so. Your pluckiness and joie de vivre is an inspiration to me!

I am wearing Chypre Noir.

Happy birthday wishes to whisperingleaves & cavaliercanary!

L'Artisan today.....La Chasse aux Papillions. So fresh, so pretty!

Sofie's concert went very well last night. She is one of four first sopranos.....no AC though in the auditorium & it was 82 at 8:30 pm outside. Inside, under the lights.....much, much hotter.

Today is for Whispering Leaves and Cavalier Canary!!

How nice to be remembered on my birthday! I've not been posting for awhile -- springtime means loads of pollen here and allergies so can't wear any fragrance. Pollen is gone -- back to wearing scent again. Am still in my nightie answering all my facebook birthday messages and just enjoying the morning. Haven't decided on a SOTD yet but it will be special...

Happy Birthday whisperingleaves and cavaliercanary! Have a fabulous day!

No SotD yet, but yesterday I lavished in Dior Homme by day and Vol de Nuit for sleep.

Today I'm in my cocoon, Castelbajac, all snug and cosy and safe. I found a half bottle on eBay, so, with some in the reserves, I can wear this a little more often again!

Happy Birthdays to Whispering Leaves, Cavalier Canary and, I believe, BlackCat too! And Happy Thrusday to the rest of us

Vincent Van Gogh, 1888
Morgane Le Fay - Yellow

To say this is cheerful, sounds so trite, yet,
it is there in the lightest of jasmine and lotus.
The sky is clear blue as the hyacinth and
as crisp and clean as the lemon here.
A teeter-totter would be most appropriate as
a gentle glide through this sunny day progresses.

Notes; Bergamot, blue hyacinth, lemon, jasmine,
peony, lotus blossom, iris, musk, oak moss

Cereus 11 by Cereus (from a sample - thanks jr4dt)

Aromatics with a tangy anisic texture. Strange and simultaneously refreshing, just the way I like it.

Hello everyone!

Happy birthday wishes to whisperingleaves and cavaliercanary , and many fragrant returns of the day to you both!

I'm glad you're feeling better Twolf! And no, purple beer isn't anything I've heard of (although you just have to add food coloring, so it's certainly possible!) I was just attempting a funny about the green beer that's a tradition on St. Patrick's day and IrishFest...get it?

I'm in vintage Chamade edt, a gorgeous fragrance for this gorgeous day!

Hoping y'all have a gorgeous day, too!

Happy happy to whisperingleaves and cavaliercanary!

Just got cbihateperfume samples from TPC... and this guy is BLOWING ME AWAY.
I have Forest Floor on my right wrist, Pipe Tobacco on my left; Hay on my right arm and Burning Leaves on my left. Wow. Wow.

Might just have to involve my knees here, shortly, 'cause I still have Black March, In the Library, Soaked Earth and Grass to go.

Fragrant day, y'all!

Happy birthday, CavalierCanary and Whispering Leaves!

I'm in lovely, lovely L'Heure Bleue this morning. It always feels like such a chilly fragrance to me, but heavenly.

Oh! I love the hummingbird birthday photo! And kumquat, you make me want every perfume that you so beautifully depict with images and words. And Thalia, love the blues... such lovely images today.

More importantly! Wishing CavalierCanary and WhisperingLeaves a very lovely birthday!

Today I'm in a just-arrived-yesterday ebay steal, Chantilly, Houbigant. I love this hobnail bottle... and this scent: spicy, flowery, powdery, amber. Very retro style. Most amazing atomizer -- you barely touch it and a very fine mist is propelled out -- are there some hidden hydraulics working in there somewhere? (A welcome change from the drippy spritzers so many of my current frags have.)

Roll out the red carpet, let confetti compound,
There are birthdates to honor, more honorees to be crowned!

Today it's Cavaliercanary and Whisperingleaves,
Tomorrow it's T-lady whom we all love like cheese!

More Mitsouko for me in the merry month of May.

My dears: I'm humbled by your royal treatment over my 55th yesters. You are the most fun and fragrant peeps on the planet. Haunani, I love your mention of G
reen Eggs and Ham (my copy of that word-juggling classic stands less than 10 feet from me), but I opted for tiramisu for breakfast. Electric eel good one, Zibeline! As Thalia apparently already knows, eel meat is just mildly fishy, sort of sweet, and just a tad rubbery. Always said I'd have no qualms about eating snake, but eel had me a little psyched. As it turned out, DD's BF made sushi wraps, and BBQed eel topped just a few of the tidy rice packages.

Happy Birthday to
whisperingleaves and cavaliercanary!!!

Today's SoTD is Detchema by Revillon (from a sample).

On me this starts out as a floral green, but ends up a powdery, semi-sweet, floral leather. Interesting, but a touch too sweet for me.

Have a great day, y'all!!
I've been on hiatus from BN for quite a while, but I wanted to stop by and say hello. Work got in the way, and then life. But I've still been spritzing often (though not every day) and thinking about my BN friends often as well.

Also, happy birthday to my fellow birthday girls Whisperingleaves and cavaliercanary! (And many early happy birthday wishes as well to fellow Gem Taolady!) May I share in the lovely cakes?

SotD: Trying the Prada Tuberose. I haven't liked any of the other Pradas, but of course I had to try a sheer version of the big white monster. Loving the top notes: green and slightly crisp, yet creamy, with a warm note underlying. We'll see how it unfolds.

Lessa, that Chat Noir licking the butterfrosting from the cake makes me giggle here. Happy Birthday to BlackCat and many warm wishes! I have missed you, dahlin'.

My Torrente for the evening -- an easy-going fruity floral with no particular theme, effervescent and soft.

I'm wearing Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Mentafollia today. It's refreshing for a warm, muggy day like today.

Sending happy birthday wishes to whisperingleaves, cavaliercanary, and blackcat

And now for some sad news. (Some of you have been asking) My nephew passed away yesterday, after spending the last week and half in a coma. Thank you for all the prayers and good thoughts.

And, and, very happy birthday to the somewhat elusive Blackcat!

My scent of the evening is Oilspill, by BP.
Top notes of hubris and incompetence, middle notes of finger pointing, inaction, and more incompetence. Unfortunate tenacity and longevity. Haven't even approached drydown. Definitely a scrubber.
Unlike anything else in my wardrobe, but at $1,299,400 per ml....
