Good morning! Today it's time for one of my (as of late) neglected beauties:

Vol de Nuit vintage parfum

Parfums Delrae Mythique (2009) Yann Vasnier Floral Oriental
------------------
Top Notes: Mandarin, Italian Bergamot, Ivy Middle Notes: Peony, Jasmine Absolute Sambac, Florentine Orris Butter Base Notes: Sandalwood, Indonesian Patchouli, Musk Ambrette
------------------

The iris in this is rich and magnificent, fresh with the citrus notes and a slightly bitter green twist of ivy bursting in the top. The heart of peony, top-quality orris butter, and jasmine is intensely floral, which keeps the freshness going; the woody oriental base makes the perfect anchor and also boosts the rootiness of the iris, keeping it from coming across as too powdery. The peony-jasmine-orris heart, balanced by the green ivy, stops short of being too feminine, making this a possible wear for a devil-may-care kind of guy. (Me? You?)

Like This Tilda Swinton - Etat Libre d`Orange
scent of great tenderness, angelic grace and unearthy warmness
(OK, it`s must-try for all fans of Bois Farine, Un Fleur de Cassie, Iris Pallida, Eau d`Hiver - and immortelle note is done in the whitest shade of pale)

Finally got around to sampling Dior Homme (ok, I tried it once shortly after it was released but I had a newbie nose then and had only enough money on me to buy one scent and sprung for Dali PH which I had been looking for for some time, so this sampling may as well be my first).

Damn, this stuff is good. Why did I wait so long to sample this again? Oh, that's right, because until now no store within 150 miles had it in stock!

Lavender. Iris. Cocoa. Carrot Seed. Sage. Mmm. I'm going to try and track down some more of Olivier Polge's other scents, as I feel he is a perfumer worth investigating.
