Am I too skinny??

I don't really think I'm too skinny at all, but one of my friends said I looked very thin lately, but then my uncle comes along and says I have a well defined body, so I'm all confused, do I come across as overly skinny?? its never something I really paid much attention to and I'm not self conscious at all. I don't think I can accurately judge it myself, so can i get some help please, didn't know anywhere else i could post this, besides we have a great community here so I don't see why not. pic: http://s916.photobucket.com/albums/a...605_173238.jpg

Thanks in advance

You look healthy to me! The only way you're "skinny" is in the sense that most people in Europe and North America are fat.
Yeah, looks fine to me too ...
You're just fine.

A~~

Thanks for all the quick replies so far!! dunno why my friend said I looked skinny, I'm gonna suggest some glasses to him lol

You look fit and healthy ! The way you look, is the way the human body was designed to look !
I agree with the rest, you look just fine. One of your friends needs to get their vision checked (or just shut up. LOL).

I'm going to need many more pics before giving an opinion. Perhaps a beach setting, or an outdoor shower...

Okay, fine! You're scrumptious and your friend is crazy.

Please don't let other people influence your self image- are YOU happy? That's the important thing.

Need a tan Mark Ryan.
I think you look quite lovely. Very fit and sexy. Your friend is obviously jealous or just foolish.

Nah I don't tan lol, I live in Ireland and we don't get lots of sun, that day was super hot though, thats the only reason I was shirtless

Thanks for the replies and some unexpected compliments lol, I like the way I look, I was just curious because of what my friend said, but I know now its absolute BS

The ideal way to know if your weight is OK is to look up your BMI (body mass index) based on height, bone structure, age and, current weight. Just google Body Mass Index and you should find reference charts that will give you the information you want. Judging by the picture you appear to be OK in my opinion.

BMI is useful as a statistical tool for populations, but it's fairly useless on a personal level. Someone with a lot of muscles could fall into the obese category, for instance, despite being very lean.

If you want to measure something, I'd suggest measuring your body fat percentage instead.

You're not too skinny - You look perfectly healthy and normal as far as I can see.
No. You're kind of thin (which is better IMO), but not skinny.
Your friend is either:

a. Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor: " You can never be too rich or too thin. "

b. Edina in " Absolutely Fabulous."

c. A bodybuilder on steroids and diuretics, or perhaps a triathelon champion.

d. (Failing 'c' above)---Seriously f*****g with your head, or seriously anoerexic, or both.

So, Mark. What kind of enemies do you have?

Cheers,

Mario

hahaha Mario thats a tough one, I think I calculated my BMI before but back then I was only like 16 so it would be different now, but yeah I asked my friend about the whole comment thing and he still said that I was scrawny lol, I think its because he has a beer belly, I don't give a crap now though because I know its nonsense!!! Thanks again everyone

Sorry if my reply comes too late, but I can only confirm what has been already said here on this board

slenderness, just like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder anyway, and, besides, you look just fine, no excessive thinness in my opinion
post #23 of 30
You're just right!
Maybe it's that you need to pull up your pants and buckle your belt a little tighter Mark Ryan. Maybe the falling down pants brings on the skinny comment.
No...You are right.

Probably a bit skinny for a fly-half but otherwise perfectly acceptable, I reckon. The ladies certainly don't seem to mind, if this thread (and others ) are any indication.

Nickel's worth of free advice? Get flexible and stay flexible, regardless of whether or not you go beefcake later in life; it will come in handy, TRUST me.
+1 on the get and stay flexible comment... it's priceless as we age. (oh, my aching back)

Oh... and "moosles" are IMO overrated. A fit frame, a good mind and great personality go much further than a well-developed six-pack.
