Please help me identify a vintage bottle of Amouage!

Hello everybody,
I just bought a bottle of Amouage, it's just labelled Amouage Cristal and the cap is gold plated. I'm not sure if that's Gold Cristal for men or Silver Cristal for men. Here are some pictures:

I think this is an early version of Gold Cristal for Men.

I have one in packaging almost identical to that one except there is "Cristal & Gold" printed on the box instead of just "Cristal".

The bottle in the photo, including the gold trim and golden colored juice, is identical to mine. The Silver Cristal for Men has silver colored trim and the juice is lighter colored.

I'm guessing that this was the way Gold Cristal was issued before Amouage introduced Silver. After Silver they had to state Gold or Silver on the box to distinguish between the two.

Thank you noggs, that's what I guess too. But I just asked Mudassir about that bottle, he says it's Silver Cristal for men, regardless of the cap color. I'm really confused now, if it's not Gold Cristal then I'll have to buy another one (the real one).

I find Amouage's earlier offerings and nomenclature to be rather confusing. I don't understand why some of these fragrance companies are intent on confounding their customer base by using such similar or ambiguous names for their fragrances.

It's hard to me to believe that no perfume house bothers to document their product and packaging history on their websites. This information would be so useful to customers and collectors.

As for your bottle, my idea is merely a guess based on what I know.
