Brit is giving me a headache

I recently got Burberry Brit. Love the woody/vanilla/musk in the background, but there is this sharp top note that's just cloying and giving me a headache.

Would Bvlgari BLV be a good evening summer scent?

I myself dislike Brit, its far too potent and cloying, the smell itself is just mediocre to me. BLV on the other hand I do like, but I don't love. It's nice and unique, definitley in that same category with Brit giving off that certain elegant vibe. It's more of a heavy ginger/floral with good projection and sillage. I like it for more intimate occasions like dates. Although it can be cloying in the opening to some, if you go light on the trigger, it does its job well, and is a big compliment getter from the ladies.

I would not be able to wear many frags if I had to deal with the top notes. Just spray the area after taking a deep breath (and holding it), then blow on that area to dry it quicker, then leave the room, without inhaling. That almost always works for me. Sometimes, however, I am sensitive to a particular note (now it is the common wood/cedar one) so I just have to avoid those frags until the sensitivity issue goes away.
